Marriage, Not Dating Episode 11
May. 22nd, 2016 03:05 pmI enjoyed this episode.
• I liked the opening scene. Grandma tennis-watching Ki-tae and Jang-mi try to take the blame was fun.
• Jang-mi/Ki-tae/Yeo-reum continue to be a delight when they're locked in a room together. I enjoy the jealous reactions but I love that at some point in the night the guys always forget their jealousy and the three of them have a great time together as a trio.
• Hoon-dong's mother surprised me in an awesome way. I loved her telling Hyun-hee she was disappointed in her, not because she was ashamed of who Hyun-hee's mother was but because Hyun-hee was ashamed of her.
• Hoon-dong's reactions to Ki-tae/Yeo-reum were amusing. I still love how supportive he tries to be.
• The confrontation scene with the mistress was a mix of embarrassing and utterly delightful. I really love that it's basically a escalating situation of Jang-mi and Bong-hyang defending each other. I loved Jang-mi refusing to walk away from the mistress's hurtful words and striking back (with words). I loved Bong-hyang taking Jang-mi's hand and trying to lead her away from the confrontation. I loved that it was the mistress slapping (and cutting) Jang-mi that caused Bong-hyang to finally, after all this time, confront her husband's mistress - and it wasn't even about her situation but rather in defence of Jang-mi. The fact that Bong-hyang's immediate reaction is to start a hair-pulling fight was hilarious. I loved Jang-mi's shocked reaction and then that she immediately jumped in to help out, lol. But then it hit my embarrassment squick.
• I loved the following scene too with Bong-Hyang's helpless laughter and Jang-mi joining in. I don't think we've ever seen her that free and open before. I also love that this is what causes Bong-Hyang to finally begin accepting Jang-mi.
• "This is the first time I've found a man wearing those clothes sexy." - So-nyeo. LOL! I love her. Dad's fake laughter in response was also amusing. They were pretty cute this episode.
• I loved Ki-tae checking under the covers to make sure that Jang-mi was in fact dressed and nothing had happened.
• I love Bong-Hyang new confidence and her little jab at her husband, for once actually saying something negative about their situation instead of just living with it.
• Se-ah is completely off her rocker. I don't even understand how she thinks her actions make sense. She tells Ki-tae's mom the secret, interrupts his proposal to Jang-mi and thinks it's the perfect time to propose herself????
• I'm so disappointed in Yeo-reum. >:[ That was such a dick move. Jang-mi came to him first to confess she had feelings for Ki-tae because it was the right thing to do, which he even acknowledges, and he responds to that by purposefully hugging her in front of Bong-Hyang? Ugh. And it's not even like he didn't know there were real emotions there! He saw the kiss on the trip, she's pulled away from physical affection with him, and he's not an idiot. This makes me so mad. He's on my shit list now.
• I felt so bad for Bong-Hyang. She had finally accepted Jang-mi and more importantly she'd accepted that Ki-tae's heart would be safe with Jang-mi. She'd even spoken up about it to her husband. So this has to feel like the biggest betrayal. It seemed obvious that Jang-mi wasn't really into the hug - her expression was shocked and she wasn't hugging back - but I can forgive Hoon-dong for not noticing those details in her own shock, hurt and anger.
