I Hear Your Voice Episode 17 Thoughts

Things I liked:
• Hye-sung and Soo-ha's reunion at the hospital was so good. The way they looked at each other, the hug, the adorableness of them cuddled on the bed together. I loved Hye-sung's "That I have a personality that outshines most people's", Soo-ha reciting it with her and her breaking down in giggles. So cute.
• Soo-ha calling Kwan-woo and begging him to save them was so great. I love that Soo-ha had the sense to call for help. I love that he wants to live now and has realised that him dying to save Hye-sung isn't heroic but will only cause her terrible pain.
• Soo-ha's confrontation with Joon-gook was really tense. I love that Soo-ha chose to keep his promise. I really love him using his brain and realising that Joon-gook covering his eyes likely meant that she was still alive.
• I liked Hye-sung's interactions with Joon-gook. I love how much like her mother she was in that scene - where she refused to be afraid, where she told him the truth that he didn't want to hear [he's the one who started it] and that she had absolute belief in the person she loved.
• I loved how worried Do-yeon was for Hye-sung, how it was her main thought and first question, and how relieved she was to know Hye-sung would be okay. I also loved how determined she was to charge Joon-gook with everything under the sun and put him away forever.
• That small moment between Soo-ha and his detective guard on the inflatable because it really felt like after all this time he's become rather fond of Soo-ha.
• I liked how the whole 'Soo-ha's father killed Joon-gook's wife' situation played out. Soo-ha's dad bribing hospital officials in order to jump the transplant queue and it leading to Joon-gook's wife's death worked for me.
Things I didn't:
• I'm a little annoyed with how Joon-gook lured Hye-sung to him. I'd liked it a lot better if he'd texted her pretending to be Soo-ha. It was such an impulsive and dumb thing to do and I mean she's certainly done things like that before, but seriously Hye-sung?
• Good god, people why the hell didn't anyone tell Soo-ha that Hye-sung was alright?! Bad Kwan-woo.
• I was so sure that Joon-gook would have some really diabolical plan that it was a little disappointing when he didn't really have. I mean as a revenge getting Soo-ha to kill him and leaving Hye-sung alive to see it is pretty good but them also dying or her dying later would have better. I guess maybe I just think he was smarter than he was? Like, I was really expecting him to have some plan where Hye-sung was to die after Soo-ha killed him thus making his revenge truly complete. They brought up that the building complex was slated to be demolished so I wondered if perhaps he might have set up the building Hye-sung was in to be destroyed after his death.
• Kwan-woo's theory about the difference between Soo-ha and Joon-gook might be a good one - except for the fact that Joon-gook had his sick mother and young son. He wasn't alone. He had two people who loved him and desperately needed him to protect them. So that pretty much invalidates that theory. Honestly the existence of the mother/son weren't really necessary. They're mention twice and never seemed a real part of his vendetta against Hye-sung. If they died while was in jail why wasn't there more of him throwing that at Hye-sung for why he was after her? They feel like an after thought, added to try and give Joon-gook a more angsty backstory and thus more sympathy. But if the writer wasn't going to do anything with them, and especially if they wanted this link between him and Soo-ha to work they really should have left them out.
