The Blacklist 3x19 to 3x21 Thoughts

This was a very unusual episode but I loved it. The show should do more episodes outside the formula. Spader was amazing as usual.
+ I loved that we finally get to meet Katerina and learn something about her relationship with Red. She's a memory of Red's but I thought this was the perfect way to actually see them together.
+ "I chose the child. It was the worst thing I've ever had to do in my life. The worst thing by far." - Red. We get another piece to Red's total devotion to Lizzie. He let Katerina die to protect her daughter, even though he clearly loved her alot, so of course he would devote himself to making sure Liz was safe an happy, and that it was worth the sacrifice Katerina made.
+ "There was a woman I loved. She was my life. My heart. And she died. She left behind a little girl, one last precious piece of herself." - Red. So Katerina or Liz or both? We got more on his feelings for Katerina but not everything. He clearly cared for her a lot, we've gotten hints before that he was in love with her, but in the previous monologue that was clearly about her he didn't talk at all about his feelings for 'the woman', only about the choice he made. Personally I think this monologue is about Liz.
+ So was the attack only a hallucination or was it a memory of something that actually happened? It felt more like a memory. Was Red there and this fight was the final straw for Katerina that pushed her into realising that Masha wouldn't be safe as long as she was alive?
+ I loved Red's entire speech about suicide. It was an amazing analogue. It was really poignant and it gave such a great look into just how much Katerina's suicide affected Red.
+ I loved the home alone-esque fight.
"Go. Stay away. I won't let you make the same mistake with her that you made with Liz." - Tom. Uhh but that's the thing. Red did stay away from Liz while she was growing up. He didn't come into her life until she was an adult. So if Red were to do something different it would be to raise Agnes himself. Tom should probably not push Red on this.
+ I loved the casting of Katerina. Lotte Verbeek was great and she had a wonderful chemistry with Spader. I hope we get a chance to see her again.
3x20 '"The Artax Network' (No. 41)
+ Wait, Liz had a grandfather?! Red, you asshole! He knew how much Liz wanted family - it's all she wanted - and he never said anything. Okay, so they both kept out of her life to protect her but once Red stepped back into Liz's life there was no damn reason why Dom couldn't have told her. When they were on the run at the beginning of the season his cabin would have been a great hiding spot. Of all the secrets Red has kept [that we've learned of] keeping Liz's living family from her is the worst one.
+ "I understand why you have collapsed into rubble. I do, and I’m truly sorry. But I’m here to collect on your debt. You owe me."- Aram. That was amazing. Aram was so great.
+ I wasn't surprised that Red wasn't at the funeral but I was by Dembe not being there. It's not like he was needed at Red's side. I suppose he's currently in charge of Red's entire organisation but still. Even Mr. Kaplan was there.
+ I loved Aram and Samar sharing a joint in the post-funeral car ride and Ressler being a buzzkill.
3x21 'Susan Hargrave' (No. 18)
+ Red was great. He was back in form - on a mission, killing people, making quips and telling stories, intimidating people, pulling twists, being in control all the way. He felt in a way like season 1 Red.
+ I loved Red's irritation at the loading door opening so slowly and ruining his entrence, lol.
+ Scottie Hargrave is a pretty cool customer. I loved her reaction after Red shot her - an annoyed "seriously?" sort of deal. She wasn't apologetic at all and didn't flinch at his intimidation.
