Fated to Love You Episodes 6 & 8 Thoughts

+ This was a great episode for Gun's growing feelings for Mi Young. This episode gave us a little of everything - protectiveness (him covering her in the towels was a little silly but very sweet), jealousy/possessiveness (the band-aid, lol) and worry (when he didn't think she was home). He did several things for her specifically - going to the prenatal class and to the wedding (I loved them having so much fun together). My favourite was him gently putting her to bed in his bed and then the next morning taking a selfie of them and smiling at it as he left for work. I really loved that moment in the car when he takes out his ring and makes the choice to put it on, smiling to himself afterwards. That's such a huge thing.
+ Funniest moment of the ep: Gun replacing the band-aid Daniel gave her with one of his and then crumpling Daniel's up into a little ball - lol.
+ I'm basically the prenatal class teacher when it comes to Gun's laugh. Please stop, crazy person.
+ I love how touched Gun was by mom telling him to call her 'mom' now.
+ I kind of love how Daniel being Mi Young's secret brother changes the usual love triangle/quadrangle we get. Or at least I'm assuming he's her brother and I think he is too.
Episode 8
+ My favourite scene was when Gun escorted Mi Young into his office. I loved him reminding her that she wasn't a post-it anymore and encouraging her to walk confidently beside him before taking her hand. I loved him covering their clasped hands with his other one. It was just a lovely callback to the second episode and the way he keeps encouraging her.
+ That whole end was so lovely. Gun teaching Mi Young to dance by the water, their smiles, the fireworks, him telling her that he wasn't avoiding her because he didn't like her but because 'he wasn't ready to go to her yet' and then her tear and him gently brushing it away before kissing her cheek! It was all so good.
+ I was super annoyed with Mi Young lying to Se Ra because she didn't think 'she could handle the truth right now'. I realise she doesn't like conflict but seriously? When exactly did she think would be a better time for Se Ra to learn her boyfriend is married and expecting a child - when Mi Young is giving birth? It was going to hurt Se Ra no matter when the truth came out and the longer she was lied to the more it was going to hurt. Also how long did she image they could keep this a secret from her? I mean at the very least I can't imagine them convincing grandma Wang to lie. It was maybe well-intentioned but super dumb.
So I was thrilled that it wasn't dragged out and Gun decided not to go along with it and that he eventually did tell Se Ra. Sure, in the rain outside his house was perhaps not the best place but I imagine after all those failed attempts he felt the need to do it and finally have the truth out.
+ I felt so bad for Se Ra blindsided like that. Her begging Gun to tell her it was a lie was sad. Then Gun crying in his room that night and Mi Young sitting outside the door crying - more sadness. Just a lot of ouch all around. I think this whole situation works so well because all these people are genuinely good people and the feelings between them are very true whether long-standing or new. I like it. Now hopefully Se Ra can meet Daniel and start finding love in that direction (and doesn't become a bitter, scheming secondary female lead trying to break up the main pair).
+ Gun panicking over mom being in the hospital was so great. I love the way he calls her 'mom'. I also loved him gently reassuring Mi Young that everything would be okay when she got all upset.
+ I loved that shot of Gun and Se Ra standing in the rain.
+ Gun's expression when a sleepy Se Ra told him that she would marry him was heartbreaking. It's everything he's wanted to hear, he's waited six years for it and it came too late.
+ I love that Gun still has the lollipop Mi Young gave him in his desk drawer.
+ Mi Young looked lovely at gala and I was feeling bad for her even before douchey Lawyer Min tried his best to humiliate her. God damn what is wrong with him? I was so relieved when Gun showed up to rescue her.
+ Daniel continues to be wonderful with Mi Young. I loved him saving her from the reporter's harassment.
+ Lawyer Hong wondering why he was there since he's a lawyer - hee.
