Killjoys 2x06 Thoughts
Sep. 8th, 2016 11:20 pmI Love Lucy
Fun! I am really enjoying this season.
• I loved Romwell and super hope we see him again. The immortal reveal was great. I loved him bonding with Dutch and how much she got to him. Shipping it a bit.
• Man, poor D'Avin. He accidentally killed Sabine with his penis! (Presumably.) That sucks. It's certainly a trauma that's going to stick with him.
• Is it wrong that now I'm thinking about how D'Avin could use this new 'power' to defeat their enemies? Like they meet up with Fancy, fighting ensues, and D'Avin keeps trying to kiss him much to Fancy's sincere 'wtf?!'. Or they send D'Avin in to seduce and sex-up their latest enemy. I can't stop thinking of the possibilities and loling.
• D'Avin/Sabine were totally adorable right up until her death. I loved them having fun while disrobing each other.
• Johnny's glee over the asteroid ship was a delight. I also loved him telling Dutch to give Romwell some time because "he just lost an asteroid ship, Dutch. An asteroid ship" The solemn way he said the second part makes me laugh every time I re-watch it (count: 5) and I love Dutch's eye-rolling exasperation. Johnny's hard on for all tech is the best.
• I loved app Lucy and her finally getting a body for a short while. I really loved her taking the opportunity to kiss Johnny (and D'Avin's 'buddy no', lol). And sparks! I loved her sacrificing the body to protect the guys and Johnny being all sad about it even though he knew it wasn't Lucy dying. I loved her letting Pawter in for Johnny.
• I loved how much fun Lucy was having with the fembot body and her glee at shooting the others.
• Aw, D'Avin being all excited about being a wizard/superhero and being happy with himself.
• I really liked the opening scene with the team on assignment. It was a lot of fun.
• I love that Johnny's bonded with Mossy (heh) and it's now basically his pet that he's really attached to.
• I'm continuing to like Dutch/Alvis.
• The killer fembots were delightfully old school and I super enjoyed everything about them. Funniest moment was definitely one of them trying to disrobe D'Avin and him struggling against it. Don't bother D'Avin, you know it's inevitable!
• I really love all the little pieces of the show mythology we've been learning the last couple episodes. I love how the Scarbacks are being tied into everything else. So Adaline was definitely trying to make Qresh uninhabitable to protect it from Romwell's weird alien invaders, yes? And an eventual fight for survival against them has to be the basis for the goo experiments/Level 6's. I'm very curious about what Dutch's role in this all is or what Khylen wanted it to be. With regards to the memory D'Avin saw I find myself thinking of Jupiter Ascending and wondering if this could be a genetic reincarnation sort of deal. That could be fun.
• I'm possibly sadder than Romwell, and Johnny, that his asteroid ship blew up. It was full of so many amazing and possibly irreplaceable things!
• So was Sabine a plant from Khylen or the Black Root or someone else? Or is she not a Level 6 but rather there are a bunch of people running around with the green stuff in their veins? Regardless, poor Sabine.
