The Master's Sun Episode 5 - 8 Thoughts
Dec. 24th, 2016 03:34 pmEpisode 5
+ Joong-won shoving Gong-shil back into the room was hilarious. I love him reassuring Chairman Wang that he didn't open the door.
+ I hope Madam Go shows up again because she's was an interesting character.
+ I like the neighbour kids.
+ I’m enjoying how this love triangle is playing out. I like that right now Gong-shil has zero romantic interest in Joong-won and that he's slowly starting to have feelings for her. I loved that shot at the end of her lost in daydreams outside the building while inside he watches her as he keeps pace with her.
Episode 6
+ Ugh, I just can’t with dead dogs. :(
+ I like that even when he's simmering in low-grade jealousy (even if he wouldn't call it that) Joong-won still gives Gong-shil good relationship advice.
+ Joong-won taking over Gong-shil's role to help the soldier was great. I love how knowing her and starting to care for her is slowly changing him.
+ I loved Joong-won confessing that he can't read and why and Gong-shil immediately deciding to read for him. And of course he immediately starts critizing how she does it but it works because as always she completely ignores his tone with a smile.
Episode 7
+ I loved Joong-won taking two opportunities to get unnecessarily close to Gong-shil. I loved him pointing out that she 'constantly ignores the fact that her shield is a man' and also can't quite believe he said it. I loved that this is Gong-shil finally actually starting to see Joong-won as a man not just a shield. I also loved him coming to her rescue multiple times - at the presentation and at the end while they're walking without even having to be asked. I like how upset he got when he saw she was hurt.
+ It annoyed me how Gong-shil chose to handle the situation with the little boy. Yes he was being abused and saving him was important but kidnapping him from his home (after sneaking in, and assaulting the mom in the process) was dumb. I'm pretty sure this is a job for the police and those pictures of his were pretty telling. She really could have handled the situation better.
+ I did like the ghost plot with the ghost children haunting the doll and using it to get close to other abused/neglected kids so they could be there to console them like they hadn't been.
+ I love Secretary Kim. Him poking at Joong-won over Gong-shil and her relationship with Kang Woo was amusing, I love his devotion to Joong-won and he was great at the end with the mother.
Episode 8
+ I loved Joong-won telling her that 'all he cared about was the fact that what everyone was saying upset her', awww! I loved him protecting her - not only by taking her hand but by stopping her obvious chatting with the ghost and telling her to pretend to be talking to him instead.
+ So there has to be a connection between Chairman Joo and Hee-joo considering they both repeated the same love advice but what? Did Hee-joo hear it from Joong-won's dad? Honestly I don't think I get the deep enmity that Joong-won feels for his dad. I wonder if perhaps he suspects his dad being behind his kidnapping (and thus Hee-joo's betrayal of him and her eventual death)?
+ The most interesting reveal this ep for me was the hints of how close Kang Woo and Chairman Joo are. He seemed to sincerely care about Kang Woo and there was a warmth in their conversation that spoke of more than a professional boss/employee relationship. Perhaps it's just on the level of Joong-won/Secretary Kim's relationship or Chairman Joo has mentored Kang Woo, OR perhaps Kang Woo is Chairman Joo's secret child? I can't wait to find out more.
