The Four Horsemen

• This was an amazing Indra/Octavia episode. "Anything you can say in front of me you can say in front of Indra." Awww! Octavia telling Indra "I'll do it for you." and coming up with a plan to save Indra's daughter. I was having so many Indra/Octavia feels. I love that the show made 'Octavia as surrogate daughter' canon even though, tbh, I wasn't even thinking of them like that before. I was more on the mentor/mentee track.

The reveal that Indra has a daughter, Gaia herself, and the interactions between Gaia/Indra/Octavia were all wonderful. I loved everything about that storyline. Indra’s adoptive daughter vs her birth daughter was great but at the same time I loved they ended the episode friendly.

I liked the reveal that Gaia was supposed to be Indra's Second and take over leading their people but chose religion instead. When Indra was all "my daughter was meant to lead armies, to lead my people" my first thought was 'well, you have that daughter now' and then Gaia said it, and then we got that "You got what you wanted" / "So did you" end and it was great.

"On the street, they’re calling her Skairipa. Death from above." - Roan. Love it. Also Indra's dry "I'm so proud" was great.

• Did Octavia go out and murder some random person to get that head? Yikes.

"You asked me to be in charge of rationing and I am doing it, but choosing who gets to live or die is your specialty." - Raven. Oh bullshit, Raven. Okay, yeah, also absolutely true. But also bullshit (and ouch, talk about going for her weak spot)! Why does this have to be Clarke's decision? For all that Raven and the others complain about Clarke making decisions they still keep pushing them on her. Why can't all the 'inner circle' come together and make it? Or least Clarke, Bellamy and Raven? Honestly I feel like Raven is pushing off responsibility here. Clarke’s made the life and death choices before, she made the choice that left them in this situation, so why not leave it up to her? I wonder if the others feel the same way or if this is all Raven?

It's interesting that during this confrontation, and throughout the rest of the episode, Bellamy doesn't say anything thus giving his tactic support for the idea that Clark should be the one to make the list. At the end while she's making the List he's actually there with her. Not to offer his own opinions on it but only as moral support. He didn't even appear to look at the list. So there's that.

• I wonder who Clarke put on the List. Is it just Skaikru or did she add Grounders? Is Niylah on there? Are all the 100 on there? I want to know.

• Bellamy/Clarke were lovely. I'm so glad that this season they're back together, partners. I loved their moment at the end over the list - putting each others names on it, Bellamy comforting Clarke. I've watched that moment before but it was just as good in context. Also loved this moment between Jaha and Bellamy:

"She’s lucky to have you. Leadership is a lonely pursuit. But you – you keep her centred." - Jaha
"You got it backwards." - Bellamy

• Murphy ♥

• Aw Abby's "I was worried about you" and the shoulder clasp was nice. If anyone needs a loving parental figure to give encouragement and affection it’s Murphy. And her telling Jackson that she knew Murphy had it (that amount of compassion) in him was lovely. I wish he'd heard it. They were great in the season 3 finale and I hope they get a lot of scenes this season because it'd be great if the show decided to build on it. Actually I really feel like Murphy training to be a doctor would work well.

• Poor Raven. She is so stressed and Clarke isn't listening/making the list and Abby is being mean and she's doing all this work while still in pain. Is it too much to ask for her to get a damn break?? Haha, of course it is. I hope she at least gets a love interest, or a miracle cure for her leg or just something good this season.

• So Luna's survival wasn't surprising but I'm not actually sure what this is going to mean for their future. Can they reverse engineer what Becca did and make everyone Nightbloods? Can they use it to create some sort of radiation cure? I wonder if survival is going to come from multiple angles here.

• On the one hand, Jaha being proactive to try and help is... good. I guess. He's not actively causing trouble so there's that. And looking for other bunkers was a good idea.

On the other hand, SHUT UP Jaha. Him waving away Bellamy's part in murdering 299 innocent allies out of paranoid fear and anger as 'a mistake' was infuriating. The cavalier way he stated "still blaming yourself" was infuriating. As if Bellamy is being silly. Like, that was a month ago dude get over it already. Ugh. Him excusing it because Bellamy's intentions were pure and it was to help save his people, as if that made it okay, also infuriating. NO, asshole. It was not okay. And frankly it wasn't to help save his people. His people weren't in danger from them and there was no immediate threat. That was simply the excuse they used. Blowing the landing ships engines in the season one finale was to save their people. Even irradiating Mount Weather was to save their people. Murdering that army was wrong.

It's interesting to hear this from Jaha, though not that surprising tbh, especially with him ending his little pep talk with 'you don't need redemption'. Everything he was saying was ostensibly about Bellamy but in the end was just as much about Jaha. And apparently Jaha doesn't think he needs redemption. ... yeah. While season 3 might have all been under ALIE's control when Jaha threw one of his own people to a sea monsters so that he could escape that was all him. I thought perhaps his experience with ALIE would change him but he seems even more set in his ways. So -- shut up, Jaha.

I did like that Bellamy was having none of it.

• Niylah working with Skaikru is an interesting throwaway line.

• It's interesting to see the different sides each of the characters are taking on the whole greater good vs immediate good. On the former is Clark (of course), Monty, Miller and Raven. On the latter Bellamy, Harper, Bryan, Abby, Murphy.

• Oh Clarke honestly. I can't believe that she left such an incriminating list just sitting there. You know someone is going to find it and it's going to cause trouble. With the way things are going it'll probably be Echo and she'll use it to turn Roan against Skaikru (though really I wouldn't blame him.)

• Poor Roan. He's generally good person trying to help his people (if also ruthless) and is keeping up his side of the bargain. I liked him trusting Octavia and his continued trust/belief in Clarke but this is going to blow up in his face and I'm feeling bad for him already.
