Agents of Shield 4x15 Thoughts

I loved it. One of the best episodes in the entire series.
• Daisy and Jemma were so good. This episode was A+ for them.
+ My favourite was the scene where they aren't sure if they could trust each other, and are terrified and heart-broken, and Daisy pulls Jemma into her arms to use her power gently against her to prove to them both that neither of them are LMDs and then they collapse into a relieved and emotionally-wrought hug and it was amazing. The hug was perfect.
+ Jemma freaking out and Daisy reassuring her and getting her back on track was a really nice scene too.
"I can't lose you too!" - Jemma
"Look at me. This is not a sacrifice play. You know why? Because I will beat them. You hear me? I know it." - Daisy
That said, Daisy ending it with always knowing FitzSimmons belonged together made me sigh. I love FitzSimmons as partners and BFFs but I'm still not feeling them as a romantic pair. I was expecting Daisy to say something about how she's always known how strong Jemma is, or that she's always believed in their team.
+ I loved Jemma reaching back and Daisy clinging to her hand as they escape the base.
• The face off between Jemma and Fitz was tense and really wonderfully done. From the beginning where you're not sure which one is the LMD through to the end and Jemma 'killing' Fitz it was a heart-wrenching emotional scene. Both Henstridge and De Caestecker were amazing. Fitz going from emotional and in pain to calm and blank was super creepy and so well done. Both the first time when he is revealed to be the LMD by stabbing her in the leg and the second time when a grief-stricken Jemma is stabbing him and he goes from screaming in pain and pleading with her to calmly holding her throat and then to pleading his love. I loved everything about it.
Oh, and I was expecting it but I love that when LMD!Fitz tells her "don't fight, you're too weak" it's immediately followed by her trapping him and using the opportunity to take him out. In all ways Jemma proved that she isn't too weak.
• I loved the twist that it was Fitz who was the LMD not Daisy.
• I loved May's speech. It was gorgeous. Her sacrificing herself to do the right thing and to protect her team was wonderful. It was another really wonderful moment. At the end of the last episode I was hoping for a happy future for LMD!May and LMD!Coulson but while I'm sad about LMD!May's death this worked so much better.
• I loved the return of May's team and Agent Piper. Also apparently my much loved Agent Davis from the last episode is part of May's team! And he gets to fly everyone to safety at the end. I hope we get to learn more about Agent Prince.
• I loved Daisy using Mack's axe-gun and her force ball. Her fight against Mace was great too.
• I 100% saw Radcliffe's fate coming when he started reassuring AIDI so stridently that he really truly believed that being in the Framework was life but it was still a great little moment when she abruptly slit his wrists and shoved him back into the Framework. I foresee him coming to realise he was wrong and sacrificing himself in the end to help free everyone else.
• So the Framework - I did not see that Hydra reveal coming! I'm very curious about how the whole Hydra thing came to be because I can't see a May, with only having that one regret changed in her backstory, working with Hydra. In this reality was it always Hydra instead of SHIELD? Is there someone else in the Framework whose one regret changed it to Hydra-world?
Coulson and Mack get normal lives. Fitz is apparently rich and powerful. Daisy is an agent (of Hydra?) and dating Ward. I was good with Ward's death(s) last season but I'm excited to see him again all the same. I loved the twist that it was Ward not Lincoln.
That leaves the biggest shocker - Jemma Simmons is apparently dead in the Framework. Jemma made sure to point out before going in that death in the Framework would mean death in real life so there is no way that Jemma is really dead. Or I suppose she could come clawing her way out of her grave like Buffy? It makes more sense that she faked her own death for some reason. Maybe she's a resistance fighter against Hydra in this reality? That could be a lot of fun! Or perhaps she is the one Fitz is helping out of the car and she's going by a different name for some reason.
• My theory on Fitz's 'date' in the car: AIDA. I'm guessing that she wrote herself into the Framework because of her curiosity about human emotions and of all the characters she was closest to Fitz after Radcliffe.
• I'm a little disappointed that Daisy's boyfriend wasn't Trip. This would be the perfect opportunity to bring him back!
• Uh, did May blow up the entire base? Because there is no way Piper and her team managed to evacuated all the actual people unconscious in the base. That would be a lot of SHIELD agents dead.
