The 100 4x07 Thoughts

• Holy crap Emori! I have to say I am both super impressed and really scared by her now. She came up with a way to save herself on the fly, manipulated Clarke and lied her ass off so well even Murphy bought it and threw a random stranger under the bus and I am just in awe of the entire performance. I didn't see the reveal coming for a second.
• I loved everything with Clarke and Emori. Every minute of their interactions were great. Clarke's attempts at small talk were great and I loved her taking care of Emori after she was injured. The confrontation over the man was excellent.
- One thing I found so fascinating is that from Emori's POV this is her first time really meeting Wanheda. She knows Clarke mostly via reputation and the things she's done - taking out the Mountain Men, ALIE - and her line "I thought nothing terrified you." really emphasised that. I loved her line about Clarke being just like her mother.
- I loved Clarke's "you are my people" to Lincoln and am still super disappointed and sad that it never went anywhere after that (and I don't think they ever had another scene together?) Now I find myself really wanting a similar moment with Clarke/Emori.
- "I protect myself. I always have." This is basically Emori in a nutshell. I wonder if they're going to give her a character arc this season and either prove her right in this or wrong and give her reason to begin to trust and relay on others (though in a way she started that with Murphy.)
• Murphy's reaction to Emori's reveal mainly shows that these two are perfect for each other. I loved his little smile at her after her reveal. I thought they were pretty cute when she first showed up way back in season two but since then they've been mostly just there and I haven't been that interested in them as a pair, tbh. But after this episode I really want the two of them to continue to be survivors together and even more to be accepted into a group and have the family and love and trust that they never really got before.
Despite Murphy's reaction and support of her at the end I feel like they are going to be in for some relationship trouble. Despite Murphy's cynicism and survivor attitude he still very clearly wants to be a part of a group (of Skaikru) in a way that Emori just doesn't want to. He cares. I think there will be some issues there.
• I loved the kitchen scene so much. Murphy/Emori were freaking adorable. Clarke and Murphy's interactions made me so happy. Murphy got Clarke to smile! They were all friendly and sassy. Clarke likes his cooking! Murphy dancing while cooking! Everything about this was love. The only way it could be better is if it turned into a group family dinner in the dining room.
• "If he's not alone we need to know now." This is just such a perfect encapsulation of Clarke. She's always looking at the big picture of a situation, at keeping everyone safe. I love how she takes control of the situation (and Murphy goes along with her, as everyone always does.)
• I love that before the Grounder showed up Murphy tracked down Clarke and was clearly going to talk to her about the situation.
• "I just need to see my mom." - Clarke. Awww.
• So there has to be a showdown next ep and I can't wait. Abby is doing this very reluctantly, Jackson will apparently go along with whatever Abby wants to do and Roan is like Clarke - pragmatic and willing to do whatever needs to be done to save their people. And Murphy and Emori are the survivors of course (though I feel like Murphy could be a bit of a wildcard.)
But Raven, Luna and Miller (he's still there right?) are not going to be happy about this latest twist. Miller who fought to survive in Mount Weather and watched their people being taken away and watched as Dr. Tsing died; Luna who is all about peace and choice; and Raven who knows Mount Weather too and while she's been learning more about having to make hard choices this season is still someone who believes strongly in choice as well.
My bet - Luna and Miller both freak out. Raven I can go either way. I really want Mount Weather brought up. I also really wish Monty was on the island because his part in what happened at Mount Weather has always been mostly ignored and I think he would side with Clarke on this which would have led to some really interesting stuff with him and Miller.
• Poor Bellamy. He seems to be really resigned, even despairing at times. On the other hand it does seem like this episode finally killed his whole "my sister my responsibility" thing which I think in the long run will prove to be exactly what he and Octavia need in order to reform their relationship.
• "No unnecessary risks. You come home safe." - Kane. Aw. Poor Kane. At this point I'm completely sold on dad!Kane and as per usual for him he found himself feeling very helpless. He couldn't help Bellamy or Harper or Abby with their pain and yet he tried his best to be there for them.
• So Octavia absolutely hit rock bottom this episode and I'm interested to see where she's going to go from here. I'm not entirely sure that I buy her choice to go after Ilian but her dropping her knives (that Lincoln gave her?) certainly seems like we're going to be seeing a new Octavia, perhaps a softer one?
