Healer Episodes 3 & 4 Thoughts
Apr. 7th, 2017 11:06 pmStill enjoying this series.
Episode 3
+ I like how flawed Young-shin was. She was really insensitive towards Yeon-hee during the meeting with her father and her reluctance to share her room or to publish an article on Yeon-hee's situation showed a very childish side. For all her big talk, including about her own skills, being forced to back it up with action proves a lot harder and scarier and I find that relatable. Also her fake fighting, dancing and singing while alone amuse me. Who hasn't done one of those?
+ I was so sure that Jung-hoo was going to see the picture of Myung-hee with Ji-an and make the connection to the photo he looked at of little Young-shin and then he didn't and it was weird.
+ I love Jung-hoo going undercover as Bong-soo in order to keep close to Young-shin. That's adding a fun twist to their dynamic.
Episode 4
+ Jung-hoo and Young-shin falling asleep together in the past and the present was a lovely little moment.
+ Jung-hoo and Young-shin looking after each other during the end confrontation - her trying to send him off, him catching her head, her agreeing to go with Double S so they'll leave him, then him returning to save her - was great.
+ I loved all the under-currents in Young-shin and Moon-ho's first meeting. Her awe and delight at meeting her idol, his expression when she she tells him that she's a fan, and the gentle way he took her hand in both of his. And then Jung-hoo standing there watching it with his knowledge of the situation.
+ I find Jung-hoo's relationship with his mother very intriguing. She abandoned him with his grandmother as a young child and started a whole new family that apparently doesn't even know about him and yet he has no obvious resentment or anger towards her over it. In fact his love and affection towards her shines through in both small things (how he leaves her the red bean paste because she loves it) and huge things (the fact that he hasn't revealed himself to her new family.) I really want to know more about them.
+ I can't believe that Sang-soo is literally told that he'll be selling his soul and he hesitated for less than thirty seconds. Dude.
