iaria: (Sailor Moon is excited!)

I finally managed to watched my two favourite summer TV shows and both of them were enjoyable.

Haven 2x01 ‘A Tale of Two Audreys’

- I loved that final scene between the two Audrey Parkers and I really hope Audrey II sticks around. The story about the foster dad makes me love Audrey even more. I love how they connected over that shared memory and the way they both moved to protect each other – Audrey I by telling her not to say anything and saying “we’ll figure this out” (putting her and who she thinks is a fake on the same team) and then Audrey II by lying to her boss. I’m excited to see where this is going. If Audrey II is staying I’ll have to think up a better name for her because ‘Audrey II’ isn’t going to work for me long term.

- I loved Audrey getting Nathan to actually smile after he told Duke his dad died. It was a tense and unhappy moment and her joke that ‘she couldn’t waste a perfectly good cooler’ could have gone wrong but she knows him and instead it lightened the mood. I loved Nathan believing in Audrey unreservedly (even when she was doubting.) I love their partnership.

- “Why does everyone think that I want to help?” – Duke. Maybe because he keeps helping whenever Audrey or Nathan ask?

- I really liked the final Duke/Nathan scene. I was surprised that Audrey wasn’t there but she must have told Duke where Nathan was burying his dad. Now did he ask her or did she send him so Nathan wouldn’t be alone? Either way I love this OT3.

- The only thing this episode was lacking in was Audrey/Duke interactions.

- I was worried at the beginning that Audrey II would turn out to be a fake, a ‘Troubled’, and was all set to be disappointed because I love the idea of Audrey/Lucy and what it could mean for her memories to be fake. I was very glad by the end reveal that she really isn’t the real Audrey Parker.

- So. Duke’s married. Hmm. Not sure how I feel about that. I’m going to assume that they’ve been separated for awhile otherwise some of his behaviour last season makes him look a bit like a jerk.

- I don’t have an opinion on Evvie yet. I did love that Audrey’s first thought was to wonder if she was Duke’s sister. That is not the first thing most people would think of.

Rizzoli & Isles 2x01 ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero’

- Jane and Maura were as slashy as ever. I love their relationship. They are excellent best friends who care about each other so much and are off the charts slashy. They are like the female version of bromance and I’d forgotten just how much! When Jane asked why Maura invited her mother to say she says “Are you a masochist? You bought this house for your mother to visit not mine!” and something about it pinged me as very... coupley. I loved Maura’s reasoning: “Because she’s your family.” AWW! I love how physical they are with each other. I loved Maura holding Jane after the explosion. They just make me really happy.

- “You are my business.” – Maura

- So what exactly was the ‘hard way’ and why didn’t get to see it?

- Frankie looks very good considering that three months ago he was near death.

- “I need to learn how to compartmentalise. How do men do it?” Ugh. Asking how Maura did it would have worked better for me.

- “I never got much sleep at slumber parties.” My mind went immediately to the naughty interpretation of that.

- Maura’s kitchen is awesome.
