The Blacklist 4x16 Thoughts

So much love for Aram helping Dembe out of loyalty/love for Red. His refusal to break into the safe and betray Red (... very good choice for future survival!), him deciding to help sad Dembe and then later helping Dembe to escape, again for Red. I love it.
"I have three people in my life - my daughter, my granddaughter, and Raymond." Oh, Dembe. That's sad. He needs some friends. He and Aram need to hang out when this is all over. Aram would love it.
I never even considered the fact that Dembe ran when he realised that he'd been set up because he genuinely thought/worried that Red might not believe him and would kill him. Because he had already killed Mr. Kaplan. Oh. That seems so obvious. That Dembe would be scared of Red is so sad and painful; for both of them really. They are the closest person in each others lives and they love each other dearly. It just makes me really sad. Poor Dembe. Poor Red. Where is their relationship going to go from here?
I liked the Red/Liz car scene and him confessing that he regretted pulling the trigger the second he did it and that's why he didn't check. I like to think that he was so off in his aim for the same reason. (Because seriously Red has way better aim than that.)
Liz spent the episode running around with Red but she didn't actually do much? Nor did she really have any significant interaction with Red. I liked her tears when she learned that Mr. Kaplan was alive and her "can this be over?". I liked her worry for Dembe. I liked her stopping to call in the first murderer. I just wish we'd gotten something more substantial with her.
So the only obvious choices for Red's betrayer were Dembe and Mr. Kaplan and yet I still think that's too easy and doesn't make sense. Mr. Kaplan wanting revenge - okay fine. But the person behind everything took out a bunch of innocent people as well and I have a hard time seeing Mr. Kaplan doing that.
So did Kate set up that forest hut booby-trap for Red or did crazy forest guy do it on his own? Because the whole thing was framed in such a way that I could honestly believe either. Actually, no, I kind of believe it was crazy forest guy not Kate. Also if they/he wanted to be sure to take out Red why not disable the ringtone and not give Red time to get out?
The Samar/Aram/Janet triangle - why? I honestly don't remember where the Aram/Samar relationship was when we last saw them but I thought it was so much closer to happening. I actually do like Aram/Janet because they have a fun chemistry and a lot in common. But I'm not a fan of the new angst-wrench thrown into Aram and Samar's relationship. The show needs to either go there or drop it at this point. (And if they drop it they need to get Samar together with Oded Fehr's character because he's super hot and I want him back on my screen.)
I'm not sure why Dembe would be dejected/put-off at Aram telling him he'll need days to get through the encryption considering he's spent a month on the run already. What does a few days matter? Even with the FBI hunting them that's no reason to simply give up on the idea.
I spent the whole of Dembe's woods chase with my heart in my throat. I will be so unhappy if this show ever kills Dembe.
