Doctor Who 10x04 Thoughts

+ The Doctor helping Bill move was super sweet.
+ Bill calling the Doctor her grand-father as a cover and his disagreement that he could be old enough was great. Their interactions all around were lovely. Also very parent/child in places which was a little unexpected. I loved her being embarrassed by him when he stuck around instead of leaving.
+ Bill dealing with Paul's crush by immediately letting him know that she knew but didn't feel the same way was great.
+ The episode was nicely creepy though more so in the first half. Creaky old houses with the noises and knocking is always a good was to make things scary.
+ I loved Bill volunteering to go and check out the noise from the kitchen.
+ Love the Doctor being all affronted because everyone loves insects and Bill's little 'whatever' headshake.
+ Loved Bill saving the day by realising that the landlord was all wrong for the story he told.
+ I'm happy that this was an 'everyone lives' episode. I liked her roommates and it would have sucked for them all to die.
+ Poor Bill just lost all her pictures of her mom. This really bothers me!
+ "There's plenty of things right here that want to kill you." - Nardole. LOL.
+ Okay, now I'm intrigued about the vault. The mystery was interesting in a vague way before but now I really want to know who's in there. The Doctor's reactions and the way he talked to the person inside was pretty fascinating. He actively wanted to spend time with them, he was trying his best to ingratiate himself. He provided them with a piano and brought food and a story to tempt them. Hearing that the story involves 'lots of young people being eaten' is what gets the prisoner to 'let' the Doctor in is also interesting as is the fact that it causes the Doctor to give a big smile.
Based on the casting spoiler the person in the vault has to be [Simm!Master, right? We know he's somehow back this season. I think the Doctor's reactions could absolutely make sense if he's talking to the Master. Being a previous version of the Master would be a good reason to be locked away in a vault and it would be a good reason for why the Doctor would ground himself on Earth. Or, actually Missy would work as well but I love Simm!Master more with Missy showing up out and about causing trouble.]
