The Blacklist 4x20 Thoughts

The twist that Red was behind the kidnapping was great. It also made a few things suddenly work so well - Liz's actual physical kidnapping in particular bugged me.
"I gave explicit instructions that you weren't to be harmed in any way." Sometimes I wonder if Red hears himself talking. Last episode Red was forced to kill a long-standing ally/friend after it came out that Red had his son kidnapped 20 years ago and the son was accidentally killed because the kidnappers were untrustworthy. This episode Red has a psychopath kidnap Liz. ... Does he not see the issue here? I mean, seriously? That was almost unbelievably reckless and with Liz's life! The point around which his entire life revolves around. What I'm curious about is if the audience is suppose to see this as a sign of Red continuing to lose it or that Kaplan is correct about him?
The Kate/Red confrontation was excellent and I loved how the standoff played out but the main thing I got from it was that both Red and Kate had points but were both in the the wrong. They are both going too far and neither can see it because they are too wrapped up in each other.
Red and Kate are so sure that they know what the right thing for Liz is and I wonder if perhaps the solution here is for Liz to step up and firmly take control of her life. For decades now these two have worked to protect her but she's a damn adult not a child anymore. What's right for her should be her choice.
I loved Red's conversation with Dembe. I like getting to see Red being so torn about what to do with Kate. Dembe is often Red's moral compass so him coming down on Kaplan having gone too far and needing to be stopped has a lot of weight. Especially considering how hurt he was by her death and the way it impacted his relationship with Red. I actually agree with him here. Red was wrong to kill Kate but now Kate does have to be stopped. I just really hope that it doesn't have to be death.
I liked the little Liz/Kate moment. I like that Liz warned her about the trap and Kate acknowledging that Liz tried to protect her from Red. That said I'm worried that Kate is taking that as a sign of Liz taking Kate's side of Red whereas I'm pretty sure that if it came down to it Liz would absolutely choose Red.
I loved that Red and Kate both confessed their love for the other - Red telling Dembe "I haven't loved many people in my life. Kate is one of them." and then Kate telling Red "I was your friend. I protected you. I comforted you. I loved you."
It really bothered me that when things went to hell at the cabin Dembe got Red to safety through the cabin but both of them left Liz behind. There is no way I buy Red letting Dembe ushering him away while leaving Liz there as bullets fly.
The cabin scene after the reveal reminded me a lot of Red's rescue of Liz in The Stewmaker.
Gale seems really unstable (dear god the crying at the morgue, the attempt to assassinate Red) and I'm a little worried that Ressler is going to get caught in the crossfire considering his 'betrayal'.
