Healer Episode 13 Thoughts
May. 16th, 2017 09:23 pm+ There were some lovely Jung-ho/Young-shin moments and my favourite by far was them alone in the cafe. "Hug me. I want to switch" made me LOL with Young-shin. I loved her leaning forward to rest her head against his shoulder and him slowly moving to lay his head against hers before she leaves and him helplessly reaching out to her. The height difference between them really stuck out in this scene and I loved that too.
+ I really enjoyed the under-current of their discussion where she's talking to the Healer as she tells 'Bong-soo' that he's a jerk and that she's very mad but she will wait for him. I don't think that he knows that she knows but I'm not actually certain.
+ Poor Young-shin. I think the reveal came off worse then it might otherwise have because she is rightfully angry and hurt but feels like can't confront Jung-ho without the possibility that he might leave. Plus she doesn't know what his true feelings are for her.
+ Moon-ho trolling Jung-hoo with the 'woman I like' line was the best. It's 13 episodes in so I very much doubt that the show is actually going to have Moon-ho confessing his love at this point. It came off to me, especially with his amused reaction watching them as they were leaving, that Moon-ho really was just poking at Jung-hoo for fun. Teasing. I loved it.
+ Jung-hoo's fake 'haha' laugh under his breath when Moon-ho and Young-shin were talking made me laugh. In general Jung-hoo's jealousy this episode was fun.
+ Now that it's been made clear that Jung-hoo's mother abandoned him to keep him safe I have so much more sympathy for her. In particular the way she never asks anything of him, nor never asks questions and simply accepts whatever he is willing to give him shows a lot of how much guilt and shame she feels about what she did. Also her eagerness to have any sort of relationship with him. It makes me sad for her.
+ In the flashback I loved that Jung-hoo accepted the coat to make his mom feel better even though he wasn't given any actual reason for his abandonment just the knowledge that it made her sad. He's such a sweetheart.
+ Young-shin's dad remains the best dad. He is so good with her. I loved that his response to her wondering why he chose difficult her as a child was to tell her that he didn't, she chose him. He waited and she took his hand first. It just seems really sweet to me.
+ I think Young-jae took some satisfaction in being able to protect Jung-hoo till the end.
+ Loved Min-ja calling Moon-shik's creepy secretary "psycho".
+ Has Moon-shik been drugged Myung-hee, keeping her tired and always sleeping, on purpose as a way to keep her in his life/grateful to him/under his control? Because if so that is by far the creepiest thing he's done so far. Their relationship and his clear love and devotion to her, and her love for him, was his main humanising feature and this kind of kills it for me.
