Killjoy 3x02 Thoughts

I really enjoyed this.
+ The reveal that Ollie is Clara was excellent. I really do love how the show dealt with Clara's actress being unable to return and thought their solution was clever and wonderfully sci-fi. The whole hackmod/skinners subplot was great and I actually wouldn't have minded the show dragging it out longer.
+ I'm sad that Ollie/Clara is not sticking with Johnny because they are really great together. I like the new actress a lot and she and Johnny have great chemistry. Their friendship and loyalty is wonderful. I love the obvious affection between them already. The scene where he revealed the truth to Ollie was so well done as was their goodbye. I just really like her and her relationship with Johnny so I hope she shows up again soon.
+ The first Dutch/D'Avin scene with Turin was fun. Their high five, without looking at each other, and gleeful pride over their 'blow it up' solution was hilarious. D'Avin was super amusing and made me giggle twice - "you need a new face" (lol!) and "I smell great" (heeee! I love how offended he was.) Also Turin calling Johnny's disappearance an "emo walkabout", heh.
+ Delle Seyah! I was so happy to see her face. I'm excited to see what's going to happen with her.
+ We got a couple nice little Lucy and Lucy/Johnny moments. I loved her telling John "if ships could cry I would have rusted John" when he asks if she missed him. And this exchange between Dutch and Lucy was lovely:
"No one replaces John Jacobi." - Dutch
"Thank you Dutch." - Lucy.

+ Very happy to have the team back together. Johnny and Dutch's reunion was short but sweet.
+ Niko was a great villain. What she was doing was super wrong on every level but I found her anger sympathetic. I loved the Niko/Ollie confrontation.
+ Johnny was super adorable this episode. "My ears are adorable!" and "I would make sweet sweet love to him and he would like it. I am a sexy wolfman." Also his second "you brought me hands" ♥ Has anyone ever been so happy to have skinned hands in a cooler? Oh, and him calling himself a 'handsome genius', ha.
+ "I think I'd follow you anywhere!" ❤ Hah. Zeph's giant crush on Dutch is both adorable and completely understandable. I liked her from the very beginning when she was wondering about the dust so I'm glad that she'll be back.
+ 'Team awesome force', heh. I love that they're running with that team name.
+ I was sad that Ollie chose to stay but also I didn't entirely buy it. Perhaps I might have if we had gotten a hint that her memory was returning and she wanted to pursue that or even just that she wanted to discover what she lost and needed to stay there to do it, or maybe even if they'd given her a stronger connection to the hackmod group at the Hacksaw Bar. Instead what we've gotten in these two episodes was Ollie's separation from the other hackmods and her quick bonding with and loyalty towards Johnny. It makes sense considering that she's Clara but makes it harder to buy her abandoning him to his war. Though I did love her telling him he could always call on her.
What could have really worked was if they had beefed up Yoki's role, had Ollie actually feel something for/about her and basically made their relationship a mirror to Johnny/Dutch. They were BFF's, Yoki went to extremes to keep Clara alive (even if the way she did it was perhaps unforgivable) and her whole plan was to take Ollie with her to start a new life together. So Ollie feeling something for Yoki and wanting to re-discover her past would make sense. It could have tied the twos separate journeys together even more and been the needed push for Johnny to return home.
+ We got a couple lines implicating a return of D'Avin/Dutch - Turin mentions UST between them and Zeph has a line about D'Avon obviously being into Dutch - and I really hope that's simply two people on the outside misinterpreting the fact that they love each other for something more sexual/romantic because I do not want a return of them as a couple. No.
