Hellcats, Bones and Nikita Thoughts

• I liked how the Marti/Lewis relationship is playing out. That it starts with her issues causing her to turn him down and then his issues and uncertainty causing him to turn her down and in the end they’ve ended up as stronger friends because of it (with a large implication of future togetherness once he figures out this thing with Alice.) I like that the show isn’t rushing them into a relationship. I like how respectful of her Lewis is. Besides Marti/Savannah the Marti/Lewis relationship is my favourite.
• Savannah/Dan are sweet and he was really great with her parents but I don’t see them lasting.
• Alice was given more depth which was nice. I really liked the short scene with Marti, Alice, Lewis (and the extra) walking back to Cheer Town and being all friendly. It was nice if weird. Seriously – how did those four end up having lunch together? I liked Marti making friends with other cheerleaders.
• I also liked the Alice/Vanessa scene which is the first time I’ve actually liked Vanessa.
Bones 6x02 ‘The Couple in the Cave
• I like Hannah and I really hope that we’re heading into a situation where Brennan and Hannah do become friends. I’m not sure how I feel about how they handled Brennan’s reactions. They had better not make Brennan so jealous of Hannah that she snipes at and about her.
• It was nice to see Clark again. I’ve always liked him but I wish TPTB had taken the opportunity to either get an all new set of interns or limited the interns to just Wendell and Daisy instead of bringing all of them back (I assume). It just feels contrived to me.
• I loved the Angela/Brennan talk where Brennan actually opens up to a point and even gets emotional. It was clear that Angela really wanted to hug Brennan and I wanted her to as well.
• Angela/Hodgin’s were cute though it felt weird to hear Angela call him ‘Hodgins’ now.
• I wish Angela making Hodgins squirm for his appreciation of Hannah had been more obviously teasing and/or to amuse herself than her being serious. I just can’t buy Angela honestly caring about Hodgins being attracted to a pretty woman. In fact what would have been nice is if we’d seen Angela appreciating Hannah with Hodgins. (The show does remember she’s bi right?)
Nikita 1x04 ‘Rough Trade’
• I’m having a problem with Nikita not killing people specifically not killing the bad guys. This show has really lessened the moral complexity from the first series but... seriously? Did she drag all the men out of the warehouse before she set it on fire? It was never really addressed. I think this entire episode passed without her killing one person and frankly I find that weird. Nikita’s the good guy and Division/Percy is obviously the bad guy but this is the spy world and she has to kill sometimes.
• Alex’s panic attack flashbacks support my hope/theory that it was Nikita that killed her family. I just really hope that Alex knows it was Nikita that pulled the trigger. I like that Amanda knows that Alex was hiding something.
• I liked Michael and Michael/Nikita more than I have yet – the one-arm fight was good and the almost kiss it ended in almost hot – but there are still times I get thrown out of things by SW’s portrayal of Michael. I don’t know if it’s all Shane or if it’s also the writing and directing but Michael is not what I think the show wants him to be. TPTB have also made him a lot less morally uncertain – he seems to obviously be a ‘good guy’ and I like morally ambiguous more.
• I definitely wish that they were making things more ambiguous as far as Michael’s reactions and feelings towards Nikita. Like, I wish that there was actual danger and uncertainty there. Instead at this point, only 4 episodes in, and I’m already waiting for Michael to become Nikita’s ally. I certainly don’t believe that he’s a danger to her and I don’t think that’s a good thing for the show. I was expecting a kiss when he confronted her in her room in the past.
• I don’t know how Lisa is going to keep the truth from her daughter. I mean I’m sure Lisa has pictures of Victor, and Sophie knows her father’s name. She’s old enough to understand what she’s seeing on TV. Not telling her is not a good plan because it’s just simply unfeasible.
