Teen Wolf 6x18 - 6x20 Thoughts

iaria6x18 'Genotype'
+ My only thought this episode is that Scott sending Liam off after Quinn while he stayed with the injured Ms. Finch was stupid and unbelievable. I mean sure he couldn't have known that the two parts of the Anuk-Ite would finally meet up literally right then but finding the other half of the Anuk-Ite was their entire purpose and she was pretty dangerous even without her other half. Priorities, Scott!
6x19 'Broken Glass'
+ Derek! ♥ It's so wonderful to see him again. Also nice to see him looking so well and okay with himself. Plus actually doing competently on his own!
+ This was a pretty great episode for Chris/Derek shippers. I mean "I believe in Derek Hale." and "You're the one we need right now." and then he saves Derek from Kate. It was great.
+ Honestly I do buy the Anuk-Ite only opens people to acting as they want to. After all not everyone is acting on the fear by turning to murder, torture and mob rule. The town is still filled by people just living their lives.
6x20 'The Wolves of War'
+ Derek and Scott's reunion made me smile a lot. I loved everything about it. The way Scott silently stares at Derek for a moment before walking into a hug and them quietly just holding each other. I love that the whole thing was completely silent. I love the contrast to their relationship in the pilot and how far they've come. "I came back for you."
+ I wish we'd gotten a Scott/Stiles hug.
+ Derek and Stiles explanation for how they met up was fun.
+ The team meeting as a whole was nice. It was good just to see them all together again. But where were Peter, the sheriff and Chris during it? Shouldn't it have been a full meeting?
+ I loved Melissa unilaterally deciding to take back control of the hospital even though I don't think she really knew what was happening and only had Nolan for help. That's pretty badass. I wish she'd met up with the Sheriff/Rafe/Parrish team instead of the Liam/Theo/Corey/Mason one.
+ Stiles breaking up the Lydia/Jackson hug was super annoying.
+ The sheriff beating down his recalcitrant deputies to save Parrish was great.
+ Jennifer as the lure for Derek was weird and didn't work at all. I mean why her? If it had to be a romantic foil than Braeden could have worked much better especially if the Anuk-Ite played it as her arriving to help and tricking him like Jackson was. Or, what about Paige who Derek still feels deep guilt over? Or this could have been a great opportunity to bring back Erica and/or Boyd. Or, either Laura or Talia would have made far more sense since Derek would have had far more of a reason to want to look at them again/listen to them. If it had been one of them I still would have sighed over the dumbness of it but I would have been able to accept it. But Jennifer? No. Especially not when he knows it's the Anuk-Ite and what it will do to him. Derek is smarter than that! I'm going to assume it has a sirens lure.
+ The defeat of the Anuk-Ite felt a bit too easy.
+ I did like the end with everyone as a pack working together to save omega werewolves. Separating to look for and hel all around the world and coming back together when they need each others help. Derek got to keep the sexy car! Chris is Scott's new step-dad and they have a good relationship! I think the final ep of 6A worked better as a finale but this wasn't bad either.
+ You know it could be easy to get Sterek from the finale. On Derek's side there was no mention made of Braeden at all. On Stiles side while he and Lydia are presumably still together we don't actually see it in the final two episodes. The Stiles jealously pulling Lydia and Jackson apart was really the only thing, and I suppose them arriving together at the end. But there was no hugging (not even when reunited after a season apart) or kissing or even touching. They weren't eve holding hands at the end. They were walking as friends and not as if there was something more between them. There was nothing really to indicate romance. Weird.
