Agents of Shield 5x15 - 5x17 Thoughts

iaria5x15 ‘Rise and Shine’
+ "I buried him. (pause) Go team." - Coulson. LOL. I love how unflappable he is.
+ Fitz’s "He’s the worst" reaction to learning Deke is their grandson was great.
+ I felt so sad for Talbot who so genuinely believed in SHIELD, who was so sure that they would rescue him, and defended Daisy never thinking for a second that she was the one who shot him and yet no one did know and no one was looking. I hope they manage to save him and fix his brain damage.
+ Jemma deciding her and Fitz are also bullet-proof is clearly not what Mack was hoping to get from confiding in her. I feel like this is going to back-fire on everyone.
+ I liked the Fitz/Daisy confrontation.
5x16 ‘Inside Voices’
+ I love ruthless Jemma. That is my favourite Jemma and she was in full force this episode. It was so great. I particularly liked that Jemma didn’t let Fitz in on her plan. It freaked him out probably unnecessarily but she wasn’t taking a chance. That whole scene was excellent.
+ I really loved Jemma and Yo-Yo (and Fitz) going rogue. They have the same goals as the rest of SHIELD but think their way is better and them choosing to act on that, to take the more ruthless path, is so interesting.
+ I'm not entirely sold on Yo-Yo and Jemmas invincible theory and I feel like at some point it has to come around and bite them.
+ I really want a scene of Mack and Daisy bonding over being betrayed by their loved ones.
+ The May and Robin scenes were lovely. Especially that initial reunion. I wish we had actually gotten to see May and Robin's mom talk about it.
+ I still feel bad for Talbot but he’s pretty fun when he’s not in his right mind/has no filter.
+ I loved Fitz’s quiet ‘thank you’ when Yo-Yo offered her condolences on Deke being their grandson. I like how Jemma genuinely seems to like Deke.
5x17 ‘Honeymoon’
+ My main takeaway from this episode is that Piper and Mack being the ones to do surgery on Deke and saving him was a step too far for me. They just got a plane of SHIELD agents and one of them should have been the doctor to save him. They could still have assisted but get a real doctor in there, yeesh. It was too unbelievable.
