Castle 3x01 was fun. . I loved the looks Beckett and Castle kept throwing at each other. I liked the way all the others but especially Esposito and Ryan rallied around Beckett in freezing Castle out. I also loved the guys being all cute puppy dogs with Beckett bringing her information and trying to get her attention and approval. It was pretty adorable. I wonder who is going to spill to Castle that Beckett had been about to confess her feelings to him, and when they’ll do it?
Chuck 4x01 was pretty fun but it did feel strangely off.
- I mean we never really got any fight scenes, which is criminal with Dolph Lundgren as a guest star. We heard some, we got the tail end of others but we never actually got any of the fighting that you expect on Chuck. What’s up with that? I hope it’s not a permanent thing.
- I loved General Beckett at the new Buy More but I find myself sceptical that she would move to Burbank.
- The new Buy More and Castle were both very neat (I love the slide!)
- I liked watching Chuck and Sarah navigate being a normal couple. The whole sexting thing was pretty amusing.
- I loved watching Sarah and Casey as partners again.
True Blood 3x12 ‘Evil is Going On’
I was very blah about this episode.
• I loved Tara’s healing cutting off of her hair (she looked gorgeous), goodbye chat with Sookie and then her leaving Bon Temps at peace. I doubt it will last but it was nice. I like to imagine her eventually going back to school, finding a fulfilling job she loves, maybe reconnecting with Hadley (and becoming friends), and running into Alcide and them getting together and her finally finding happiness.
• I liked Sookie ‘bargaining’ with Russell while lounging on Eric’s throne.
• I liked the final Sookie/Bill/Eric confrontation and, oh, I hope this means that this truly is the end of Sookie/Bill.
• I liked the final Pam/Eric scene.
• Other than that – eh.
- Jessica/Hoyt were fine but I just can’t like them anymore.
- Lafayette and Jesus were fine but I’m rather ‘whatever’ about them.
- Sam and Jason’s storylines were horrible and I just wanted them gone. They’ve completely destroyed Sam’s character for no reason I can see and Jason remains as uninteresting and unless as ever.
- I find myself hoping that Sophie-Anne takes out Bill but undoubtedly something will allow him to kill her instead. Sigh.
Haven 1x10 ‘The Hand You Were Dealt’
• I really wish the show would stop killing off people with these completely preventable and/or unnecessary deaths. Eleanor’s death in the last episode had no real purpose (Julia could have come to stay with her mom alive, Eleanor could have still kept secrets or not). Then in this episode we have Vanessa’s death and that really irritated me. There was no reason for her to go running after Matt – all the civilians had left the scene and there were two police officers on site. Her death was completely avoidable. They seemed to imply with her telling Duke that she would rather die than live with her affliction that she was suicidal, and thus perhaps she did it on purpose, but I don’t think that they gave enough build up for that to work. Plus I liked Vanessa, and her actress, and I wouldn’t have minded her as a reoccurring character.
• I like Julia and the friendship starting between her and Audrey, god knows Audrey needs a girlfriend, but so far their interactions feel a little forced.
• The final scene with Audrey, Nathan, Duke and Julia was nice and it kind of felt like TPTB setting up a dynamic with Julia now becoming a part of the gang. I like that.
• Oh, Nathan – when they were at the pool and Audrey was talking I was watching his face in the background and it was so clear how badly he wanted to touch her right then, like he’d been holding it in and now that she was looking away he couldn’t help but so nakedly want it, and it was so obvious in his face and in how close he stood to her. I loved that scene.
