Kyou Kara Maou - Episode 107

This was actually kind of an aggravating episode. There were so many things that had me shaking my head and/or going WTF.
- Shori, who I don’t have extensive patience for and who does dumb things, was annoying me with his unwillingness to say anything about what happened.
- The idea that the Maou can’t overturn a decision of the Ten Nobles (by his word alone) made me blink and go ‘…what’ because seriously – what? Since when? The whole Council of Nobles thing appearing suddenly after two season (and almost a hundred episodes) was weird enough (cause where the hell where they during those two seasons?) but I was willing to go with it. But the idea that they are so very powerful, more powerful (as a whole) then the Maou, in fact, has my willingness to hand-wave became vanishingly small. If they were that powerful then I am sure there should have many times over the previous two episodes that you would think they’d be interfering in Yuuri’s decisions.
- We have the guards coming in and taking Shori under guard while he’s in the middle of lunch with their Maou which made me shake my head. Why exactly was it so important to grab him right then?
- Also what the hell is up with confining him to his room? Why not just make it the castle? That said Yuuri being all ‘it’s cruel’ made me roll my eyes at him at first because confining someone to a large, open, and luxurious bedroom is not ‘cruel’. But then thinking about it I realised that it wouldn’t have a computer, game console or probably books so perhaps for a modern young person it could be considered cruel.
- I did like Murata’s line that Shinou is ‘so moody’.
- I liked the end where Yuuri and Shori immeadiately devolved into rather amusing bickering when Shori finally told everyone the truth and Günter laughing at them. It was a nice end to the episode.
