Kyou Kara Maou - Episode 108

I really enjoyed this episode.
+ The fact that we got so much Saralegui and Yuuri/Sara probably have a lot to do with my enjoyment because I just love them. I enjoy how Sara is always touching Yuuri, how only seconds after coming face to face he's touching him, and it made me go ‘of course’, because it’s Sara and he seems to love touching Yuuri even when it’s completely unnecessary. I love it. I love how happy Sara was to see Yuuri. I love that when Yuuri was told to think about the place he wanted to go he first thought of Conrad and then found himself going to Sara, though it’s not what he intended.
I even loved the end with Yuuri losing it because of Sara, and Sara’s awe and glee over Maou-Yuuri (and unwillingness to leave for somewhere safer). It’s manipulative and kind of creepy and yet I believe Saralegui when he tells Murata and Shori “I like Yuuri very much. His power included. And I am grateful to him.” I do think that he truly is fascinated and likes and is very drawn to Yuuri. And honestly the whole ‘manipulative and kind of creepy’ aspect works for me just fine. I really want every episode to have some Yuuri/Sara interaction because it makes me so happy. Sara manipulating Yuuri (I don’t think he can help it) and Yuuri being all naïve and open, and surprising and delighting Sara, and them touching and maybe more instances of them trapped together because that was a really excellent episode.
“The vital stage on which the future of our world will be decided would be no fun without you.” – Sara to Yuuri.
+ Yuuri telling Murata “You’re a Japanese student who’s never been in a battle, like me.” made me stare in disbelief for awhile. My first thought was to wonder if Yuuri had ever watched this show or suddenly been struck with amnesia. What does he mean that he’s never been in a battle? He’s been in tons of battles! Yeesh.
+ Shori, Yuuri and Murata being all shoved in tight in the closet made me giggle. Also while both Murata and Shori were vocal about the fact that they weren’t pleased to be that close to each other I notice that neither said anything about being that close to Yuuri. :)
+ I did like Murata and Shori's immediate agreement about Sara:
“He’s a crafty sort.” – Shori
“Isn’t he?” – Murata
+ I liked that Günter thinks that Conrad is meant to be by Yuuri’s side.
+ I liked Murata telling Shinou “It’s creepy to see you be too quiet.”
+ I’m curious about the control Yuuri appeared to show as Maou when he lost it. I mean he only attacked the Dai Shimaron ships and the Mazoku ones were left safe and in clear skies and calm waters. Was that because they were too far away, because Sara specified Dai Shimaron as the target or because it was the Maou exercising some control?
+ I’m also curious about the fact that Sara can apparently mesmerise/hypnotise or otherwise control Yuuri with his eyes. For some reason – probably because it was ineffective on Janus – I figured it wouldn’t be affective on Yuuri, or that Yuuri would be too powerful for it to work on. The fact that it does has me going ‘hmmm’ and not necessarily in a bad way. There are possibilities there.
