3x33/Episode 111

I loved this episode! Definitely one of my favourite episodes of this show.

- The main reason is definitely the Yuuri/Saralegui interactions which made me squee with joy. Their first meeting was excellent but it was really the carriage ride that was the highlight of the episode. I loved everything about it. Yuuri telling Sara calmly “I’m angry.” and then banging his hand against the wall beside Sara’s head trapping Sara with his body – surprisingly very hot! Then him getting off track in a very Yuuri way making it amusing. I loved Sara laughing and then just glomping on Yuuri with a grin. ♥ Then Yuuri blushes! And noticeably doesn’t push Sara away. I was totally expecting Sara to kiss him. Sara definitely seems to affect Yuuri more than any other character. At least in this way.

- I loved the way Sara said “Get your hands off Yuuri.”, he seemed sincerely angry.

- I loved that Yuuri decided to return Berias because Sara is very attached to him and would be very worried. Finally getting some forward movement on the Sara storyline and the White Crow storyline tying them both together – neat.

- I love how very loyal Berias is to Sara. His line to Conrad – “Why do you have so much loyalty for the Maou? I am the same. I am loyal to King Saralegui. (looks at Conrad) I cannot lie about those feelings.” – has me wonder if there is more to his feelings.

- “I don’t intent to let you have King Yuuri. (pause) Yuuri may be able to save that person’s heart. You threw that person away, and now you will take such a thing from him?!” – Berias. ♥ Berias ships Sara/Yuuri!

3x34/Episode 112

+ So if Sara didn’t know the truth about himself and Berias, and that they were Seisakoku royalty, how did he realise that it was Berias standing in the doorway? He only saw the back of him at that point and Berias had blond hair. Also why wasn’t he more ‘what the hell’ about Berias sudden transformation?

+ So Berias is Sara’s uncle – I guess that note of something more I thought I detected in the last episode was familial. I did wonder during the confrontation between Berias and Alazon if Berias would turn out to be Sara’s real father.

+ Of course Cheri would sympathise with Alazon and would understand it from her point of view.

+ I loved Yuuri’s line – “I really do love this country.”

+ Berias says that Sara ‘always seemed to be lost in lonely thoughts’ but considering, that from what we’ve seen, Sara never had any friends or playmates I am not finding this surprising.

+ “Not only that. A child of the rulers of two countries. Each had their own place.” – Günter. This is of interest because if Sara/Yuuri ever did get together this would be the exact position they’d be in. Actually Sara’s position is even more interesting because he’s not only the child of the rulers of two countries, he’s also the heir to them both. Well, now he’s the ruler of one and the heir to the other. Unless being the ruler of another country disqualifies him? If it doesn’t how exactly does that work?

+ Conrad: You saved King Yuuri for King Saralegui’s sake, didn’t you?
Berias: King Yuuri is a mysterious person. It seems that King Saralegui has not realised it yet but he is softening toward King Yuuri. He may be able to heal King Saralegui’s loneliness.
Conrad: It is true that King Yuuri brings warmth to people’s hearts. But that won’t be enough for King Saralegui, will it?

Hmm. Yuuri may be able to heal Sara’s loneliness? Okay! And then we have Conrad saying that Yuuri brings warmth to people’s hearts but he doesn’t think it would be enough for Sara and all I could think was that Yuuri makes people happy, that people love him, and having his regard is enough for them but that Sara wouldn’t be content to just get Yuuri’s ‘warmth’, his regard and friendship like everyone else. Sara would want more, like marriage and having Yuuri to himself more. That works for me!

3x35/Episode 113

For whatever reason this episode felt very short.

+ I felt so very sorry for Janus. I don’t understand why Murata and Shinou were so very cruel to him. All he wanted was to see Shinou, to talk and perhaps touch him, before he died. He loved Shinou so much. Why did they have to do it that way? I just don’t understand. Did Janus have some plan I missed and wanted to hurt them? It just seemed excessively mean.

Then we had Janus’s death itself which was violent and really disturbing and was really more of a complete destruction rather than a death. It was horrible. Was that always how he was going to die or was it because of Shinou/Murata? And if they knew he was going to die like that would it have killed them to have given him some peace before his death?

What was up with Murata experiencing what Janus did? Why were they connected and how is that going to affect Murata now that Janus is dead? Murata was talking about how he was going to let Daikenjya’s memories die in the next life when it happened – were the Daikenjya memories absorbed into Janus and died with him? Or perhaps Murata’s Janus memories?

Murata: I’m sure you’ll be able to do it.
Shinou: With your help. Isn’t that right, my Daikenjya?
Murata: (pause, smile) Yes. I will be with you no matter how far you go.

+ The fact that Ulrike can call upon all the priestess’s powers is very interesting. Anissina actually physically trapping Gwendal in her room amused me.

+ I love the way that Sara says ‘Yuuri’ – like it’s a special word, like he savours saying it.

+ “Small Shimaron wishes to forge a new bond with Shin Makoku.” – Sara. Oh, I’ll just bet he does.
