I watched the entire series and really enjoyed it. I love main character Toma and really liked the Toma/Segumi partnership. The build up of the mystery was excellent and the final episodes had several awesome twists. The truth about Ninomae and the identity of the true bad guy I didn’t see coming at all, and the final big confrontation was awesome. I am so glad that this show is getting an SP and a movie because with the way it ended it would be so wrong for it not to.

Toma is awesome. She’s my favourite. She is so smart it’s scary. She is brilliant and perceptive, unwavering in her pursuit of solving a crime and very competent. She is also really amusing to watch because along with all that she is also so weird and sometimes ridiculous and just doesn’t care at all. She is herself and if you don’t like it that’s your problem. I love the faces she makes. She has some of the best smirks I’ve ever seen. I love her smiles too and how she uses them as yet another tool at her disposal. I love how dramatic she gets when she’s figured out the truth and is laying it out for the bad guy. In episode 7 her freaking out about Satomi falling asleep right in the middle of one her explanations was hilarious.

Throughout the series I kept thinking about how I really wanted Toma Saya and Osawa Eriko to meet. They could solve crimes together and it would be epic! Then when I was looking up a name I had a ‘duh!’ moment when I finally realised that Toma was played by Toda Erika – who played Mami on BOSS!

Episode 3

- Toma’s trap for Ninomae was awesome. I love that he instantly knows who did it.

- I love Toma’s method of putting together all the fact to figure out the truth. Writing down all the clues, ripping the pieces of paper and then throwing the pieces into the air. It’s interesting.

Episode 4

- It’s different to have the guy randomly hitting the girl instead of the other way around. Strangely this doesn’t bother me as much as I would have thought it would.

- Toma trying to arrest Segumi made me lol

- Toma: (crying) Sebumi-san is a bully. Hee.

Episode 5

- “Don’t you think she suits you?”
“If so please shoot me.”

LOL. Clearly this means that they are meant to be.

- “I know nothing about technology.”
“It’s true. Sebumi-san is stupid. He’s all about the physical aspects.”

Hee.

- I loved getting to see Nonomura be awesome for a moment. When he moved the gun from Toma’s head to his own and then kicked the other cops out it actually really surprised me. He’s usually this distracted, affable and rather goofy older guy. Who knew he had it in him?

- Um. I really don’t think carrying loaded guns around in a paper bag is the proper way to do it. Or I really hope not.

- So Sebumi eats when upset and Toma eats... always.

- The flashback was interesting. Toma was dressed nicely and laughing and basically being normal (while still being herself) and it was just unexpected. Huh. What caused her to change so much?

Episode 6

- I liked Toma fighting back. First when she kicks Sebumi after he starts calling her by her hated nickname and then when she smacks him upside the head to get the book away from him. Sebumi being physical with her doesn’t bother me like I would have expected but it was kind of... a relief to have her hit back. It puts them more on an even footing.

- I love Toma reading the books as Sebumi threw them at her.

- I love how irritated Toma was by Sebumi finding the book first. The face she makes was hilarious.

- I loved Sebumi grabbing Toma’s suitcase when they took off running.

- Wait... Toma is a SPEC!> I’ve wondered but if it’s true it could be so interesting. Is her SPEC related to her intelligence? Or is it her strange ritual to solve a case? Is it her SPEC that allows her to put all those pieces together?

- Mirei is a SPEC too isn’t she? I mean she gets visions when she touches things/people so what else would you call that?

Episode 7

- Mirei getting a vision of food was amusing. Of course she did.

- So what exactly did Satori mean when she described things between Toma and Ninomae as “no way, gross!” hmmmm. I know where my mind went.

- Toma speaking English makes me laugh. It’s just really amusing

- “You’re amazing.” – Sebumi to Toma. Wow, someone is really impressed!

- When Satori said she doesn’t like guys I immediately thought ‘girls!’ and then she seemed to know Toma and their interactions made me go hmm.

Episode 8

- Huh. So how did Toma survive the fall? Did she use her SPEC (if she has one), did Ninomae or someone else save her or perhaps her mind is being messed with and she was never pushed?

- “I think we have a bond.” – Toma. Aw.

- “You have a bad personality, you’re ugly and you always smell of garlic. But even with that I’m glad to have met you. At least I thought that in rare moments.” – Sebumi. That’s practically a declaration of love for Sebumi!

- I don’t understand why if they’re so powerful they need Sebumi to help them?

- “What should I do?” – Sebumi
“... Have you ever tried smiling?” – Toma.

LOL.

- So, wait, how exactly was Shimura killed?

Episode 9

- So if Mirei lost her ability with her brother’s death then was it his power all along and she was just ‘borrowing’ it?

- I was so relieved when Nonomura was revealed to still be alive. I hadn’t realised how much I actually did like him until I thought Ninomae had killed him.

- I love that Mirei’s SPEC is going to be an essential part of saving the day.

- Of course Toma would be able to smirk while ‘frozen’. The Smirk is just that powerful.

Episode 10

- WTF Ninomae is Toma’s little brother Youta!?

- I wish they had established Toma’s lost little brother earlier in the series.

- Oh, poor Toma! And this was foreshadowed with the woman who accidentally killed her own daughter. Now I really don’t want him to die.

- Chii is the bad guy WHAT!? Eeee, he’s erasing their memories.

- Did Chii drug the tea that he gave the cops? It certainly seemed like it but then nothing comes of it.

- “I mean when I’m not around you then I don’t know what you’re up to. I can’t help but be worried.” Ahhhhh! This show has turned into a horror movie. OMG Chii is the creepiest ever. The way he casually kept touching her head and changing her memories and him manoeuvring to control everything about her was just.... ack. So disturbing. Messing with people’s memories always gets to me.

- Okay so Chii is horrible and wrong but I kind of like his obsession/’love’ for Toma began with him being impressed by her brain.

- The chess scene confused me. Who the heck was the chess master? Why would he tell a clearly unstable Chii that he’s “the world’s most annoying person”, what the heck was with the guys with the vuvuzela’s and who did Chii turn into? Or... waht? I am confused. Was that put in just so that Chii could explain everything?

- I loved Sebumi waking from his coma to try and hit Toma when she starts eating his food. It was rather sweet. And then Toma lowers her head so that he can hit her in the proper spot – awww.

- Of course Toma would remember herself and figure out what he did because she is just that clever and amazing.

- I actually quite liked the sort of low-key Toma/Chii relationship at first. He seemed to accept her for who she was and the proposal flashback showed a whole new side of Toma. I was interested in seeing how things had gotten from there to how things were at the beginning of the series. Then the show went to a place I was not expecting at all. So the flashback was all Chii messing with her memory? But it can’t have been all Chii messing with her memories because we have photographic proof that she was more ‘normal’ – at least when she was at university. Chii’s stalker photos showed that. I’m not sure what to consider real and what to consider false.

- I love that Sebumi remembered Toma out of sheer stubbornness.

- I love that Mirei was right there with Sebumi. Her SPEC really is saving the day!

- Sebumi spitting his tooth into Chii’s forehead! I am torn between ‘lmao’ and ‘badass’. Who does that?

- “The fight isn’t over until I’m dead. Everything can still change as long as I’m alive.” – Toma.

- Toma still has her hand! In the beginning I figured that she had broken her hand or arm, then it was revealed that she lost her hand (which I didn’t write a reaction about but it was basically: OMGWTF?!) and now the reveal that she didn’t lose her hand but was just pretending?! ...no, wait, the scar around her wrist – so she lost the hand but it was reattached? Did she lose her thumb or was it just hidden by the bandage?

- What happened to Chii’s followers when things went wrong for him? Shouldn’t they have done something?

- I can’t believe they ended it with the revelation that Toma has the same power as her brother. Or is that even what happened? What did Nonomura see when he was praying over Ninomae’s body that caused him to freak out? If Toma had this ability all along then why didn’t she use it before? It doesn’t seem to add up that it was Toma using the same or similar power. ... Except wait, there was that moment during the confrontation between Ninomae, Toma and Sebumi where Toma managed to smirk when she should have been ‘frozen’. Hmm. Okay it maybe works. It still doesn’t explain things especially Nonomura’s reaction. Did Toma take a minute to zip over to see her brother’s body? They can’t just leave things there!
