Hottie Of the Week: Minako. She looked lovely in the red coat when she confronted Mio and then again during her performance.
Cutest Moment: Usagi running around screaming about how happy she was after Minako said they should go for cake again. She’s so cute.
Saddest Moment: I’m going to go a little different here – for me watching the episode this time I found the final Minako/Usagi scene really sad because Usagi doesn’t know that Minako is Venus and when she was gushing over Minako remembering her I found it so sad. They were so close in the other versions and it’s strange and sad that they are so distant in this one. Minako should get to have Usagi as her friend too.
WTF of the Week: There wasn’t actually any one moment that made me go ‘WTF!’ but there were a bunch of questions I was left with. 1) How exactly did Mio manage to get rid of the others? It appeared that she made them think that Usagi was going to meet them for ice cream but they would never have taken her word for it. 2) How did Minako figure out what Mio was doing? 3) How exactly did Sailor Moon manage to defeat the youma all by herself when it looked essentially the same as the one in the last act and that one took the four of them to defeat? 4) It appeared as if Minako didn’t realize that there was a youma which seems very weird to me. If I had to pick one that bothered me most I’d say the first point.
Coolest Moment: Minako warning Mio off messing with Usagi again. I loved her cool “But I’m not.” (a good person). That was awesome. I want more of that Minako.
Best Senshi Moment: Sailor Moon taking on the youma by herself and not only holding her own but kicking its ass. I really enjoyed this fight. I liked that she transformed before she caught up to it and I liked that little look at how being transformed makes a senshi more powerful (easily jumping down a couple stories, and then later jumping up to a balcony).
Best Senshi Interaction: I loved the four girls having fun doing Luna’s ‘special training’. It was nice. I also loved that short phone call between Usagi and Makoto at the end and the look Makoto/Rei exchanged.
• “You’re always by Usagi-chan’s side, aren’t you?” – Mio. I love Naru continuing to be so close to Usagi and believing in her completely. I loved her confronting Mio.
• How is Mio trying to destroy Usagi’s relationships with everyone else because ‘she likes Usagi’ and wants her ‘all to herself’ supposed to come off as anything but femslashy? Cause it really was.
