I wasn’t intending to start another drama so soon but found myself instead marathoning through eleven episodes of My Princess. I... have no idea where that came from. I never marathon Korean dramas. I can do it with Western shows and Japanese shows but I’ve never been able to do it with Korean dramas. Eleven episodes in two days really surprises me!

Episode 1

• I really like Lee Seol. While she can be embarrassing - her daydream in class, her love affair with the luggage - overall she's pretty adorable. I love how happy and outgoing she is. She has this very sunny and engaging personality. She's very energetic and seems pretty confident in herself as well which I like. Her singing after they left the restaurant was cute.

• Seol/Hae Young interactions are excellent. I love her coaching him in how to get the girl he likes. The scene where they eat after the museum was utterly delightful. I loved her stealing his phone and then giving him advice. I love how he’s alternately bemused and amused by her. I love how she just runs roughshod over him.

• Jung Woo I’m mostly neutral about except that I thus far have no interest in shipping him with anyone. He was sweet with Seol the night at the school but then there was his forced hug with Yoon-Ju which kind of creep’d me out. She very clearly didn’t want him touching her (and he knew it) and that added to her discomfort at their dinner read ‘stalker’ to me. I kind of want him away from her.

• Yoon Ju I’m also neutral about. She appears to be very successful at a fairly young age which is interesting.

• I was surprised by how happy Seon was to see Hae Young at the end. I would have thought that she would wonder more how he knew where she lived. Or at least ask jokingly if he was stalking her.

Episode 2

• My opinion on Jung Woo and Yoon Ju did an almost complete turnaround from episode 1 to episode 2. She was there with him, helping him in his search, and even if it became her passion as well it (at least) started as a way to be close to him so for her to take all the credit – for what is his life’s work and passion – that’s just really wrong. During their meeting he deals with it so much better than I would. He tries to understand her and her response that she was going to ‘run away’ and to contact her when he wasn’t mad anymore was such a dick move. It made me dislike her quite a bit.

• I love them watching the movie together. Him shoving popcorn in her mouth when she demanded it back was cute.

• Seon putting out a welcome sign for Jung Woo, with his name on it, was itself pretty lol worthy but then she pretended that she didn’t know he was coming and I was left shaking my head. She is so ridiculous.

• I love that Seon keeps making all these pronouncements like her “All right let’s make up” (lol) and then “It’s time for an alliance.” and just runs over anything he might say. As if now that she’s made a decision it will now be fact.

“It’s very difficult for me to lose to anyone.” – Hae Young. He is so arrogant. I find it a bit adorable. Mostly whenever he says something like this it makes me go lol and want to pat him on his head.

“I think you’re my aunt.” – Hae Young. Lolol. He just comes right out with it. Also I found this hilarious as well: “Just don’t pass out from joy when you find out the truth.”

• I find Seon leaving her mom’s place – while Jung Woo and his assistant were there as guests – so bizarre. Did she call someone else in to take her place? Were they just supposed to go find somewhere else to stay? What about the dogs?

“I waited so long! He can’t just leave me again.” – Seon. Seon’s breakdown about her father to Hae Young was pretty heartbreaking and the most touching moment thus far.

“There’s nothing I can’t do. I’m too perfect so I feel a sense of guilt. I keep giving people a sense of inferiority even if I don’t want to.” – Hae Young. Seriously – it’s all lol. I loved him making her a steak dinner.

• Are setting up for mistaken identities here? Could Dan be the real princess? That would certainly be a very unexpected direction for the the show to go in.

Episode 3

• Oh, god the bathroom scene. Really must we?

“I feel like crap right now. I need comfort.” – Yoon Ju. Hmm. So that’s what they’re relationship is then. She uses him and he’s so in love with her that he accepts it?

• The antipathy between Hae Young and Jung Woo is rather fun. They appear to have taken an extreme dislike for each other from the very start.

• I love how similar Seon and her mother are. Her mom is great and I've liked the actress (Im Ye Jin) in everything I’ve seen her in before.

Episode 4

This was the funniest of all the episodes – or rather the first twenty minutes or so were hilarious. Here were my notes as I watched:

- Heee Hae Young fake praying
- Seol freaking out silently as the pastor reads the letter makes me lol so much. Oh you silly girl, just interrupt and say ‘oops, mistake! Can I have it back?’
- Lol ‘is she pregnant?’ lolololol best ever. now everyone is going to think she’s pregnant. (Why wouldn’t they have been more strident in their objections?)
- His reaction to being recognised heeee (Yes, Hae Young covering your face will help.)
- “Church members in the names of Christ, shhh!” – lol and then everyone shhhhs and I die.
- So how long till everyone in the country knows? Will it come out at the end of the episode?
- “You made this big scene at school? You guys... are so romantic!” Heeee. It’s just like a drama!
- “Please approve of this.” And he kneels down to her? I didn’t realise he knew how to do that. I love him lying with the truth.
- Lol to Seon freaking out more in the background
- “Register your marriage” ...glee. She is the best mom. A fake marriage? Really?
- Loling forever at the nameless guard as Hae Young says goodbye to Seol’s mom. His mouthed “son-in-law” and expression throughout the scene – hee.

• I loved Jung Woo’s amusement and teasing Seon. Of course he would read her love letter. They were cute plus he was worried about her which was sweet.

“Because I was worried!” I loved how frantic he was about her and how he ran to save her.

• Are they seriously fighting over two girls at the same time? Lol. And then all four of them in a room together and Hae Young leaves with Seon and can’t resist a last dig about Yoon Ju “She knows me better than I do” God, so ridiculous.

• The Seon/Hae Young interactions are really the best part of this series. I loved her checking out his eyelashes and then getting all jealous because his were nicer.

• Why would they risk eating in a restaurant? How could the media not have picture of her yet?

• Seol’s love for her father is the most touching part of the series thus far.

• I wonder if we’re going to learn anything about Seol's birth mother? She already has a mother and that, along with no memories of her birth mother, would explain her lack of interest but does no one have any interest in it?
