Doctor Who 11x10 Thoughts

Meh.
+ Graham/Ryan were great. I loved Ryan's 'I love you'. I'm glad that they got to take Tim Shaw out together.
+ I loved the Doctor's smile at the TARDIS.
+ The Doctor's line to Graham about becoming just as bad as Tim Shaw was nonsense. I rolled my eyes a bit.
+ In the first episode the Doctor sent Tim Shaw off alive and, in consequences she never could have seen, he landed by the Ux and made himself a god, and either a) completely destroyed five planets and killing billions of living creatures, or b) kidnapped the planets but still killed tons of people in that ship graveyard. Either way these are not small consequences! And yet the show doesn't ever really engage in having the Doctor questioning her methods. If she had killed or imprisoned Tim Shaw instead a lot of people would be alive. I feel like this should merit some reaction from the Doctor.
+ Once again really feeling the Ten vibe. As with Ten an enemy inadvertently created by them coming back in the finale and wreaking havoc.
+ Regardless of why they did it the Ux committed genocide on an unfathomable scale if the life on all those planets was destroyed. “God told us to” is not an acceptable excuse!
+ You know it occurs to me something that's been missing between this Doctor and her Companions is the role Companions usually play for the Doctor - they often act as as someone to hold the Doctor to their better nature, to prevent them from going too far while also acting as new eyes to the universe keeping the Doctor seeing it as new and delightful. I mean, the Doctor also manages to on their own for the most part but in the previous 10 seasons it was emphasised multiple times how the Companions fulfilled these roles and how necessary that was. With Thirteen I really don't get that sense. She was lonely and they give her companionship and friends but it doesn't seem like anything more than that.
