Episode 9

• I don’t like Yoon Ju, and the show hasn’t done anything to make viewers like her, but when Hae Young was so cool to her and then apologised because his new feelings for Seol now have him realising how bad his behaviour towards Yoon Ju hurt her, I found myself feeling sad for her. That was really harsh.

“I’m sorry I’ll say it in my head from now on.” – Seol. LOL. I love the way she’s just all casually ‘oh, you heard me insulting you? I’ll say it silently from now on’. I find that adorable.

• Seol/Hae Young continue being delightful. I liked him telling her that she wasn’t dumped, I like how he continues to be so possessive about her around other guys, and his questioning her about when her last kiss was (for the job, honest!) makes me lol. I loved her inadvertently confessing her feelings and then chasing after his car by hitchhiking and her very unbelievable denials. His “It drives me crazy how embarrassing you are” was great because I have been there. I loved him carrying her and his “How are you so heavy? What are you a canoe?” Hee.

• I really love Mi So and I want her and Seol to become good friends. This series is really lacking that. Mi So planning to give Seol’s anti-fans a thrashing is adorable. I like how they’re becoming conspirators.

Episode 10

• The opening scene was great. I loved how it wasn’t just Hae Young and Yoon Ju talking to each other, or even mostly, but Yoon Ju talking Jung Woo and Hae Young talking to Seol. I loved that when Seol called out for Hae Young not to leave she called him “Mr P” and thus was basically telling him ‘I like you’. I also really liked Jung Woo. Even though he’s dealing with his own pain he immediately goes over to try and help Seol. It was sweet.

“If you abandon the princess you should suffer at least a little.” – Seol. I love that. I agree so much. She should try her jealousy tragedy on him to really make him suffer for awhile.

• In the previous episode the nun says that Seon and Dan’s adopted parents wanted Seol over Dan. Has Dan known that since the beginning? If she had, if she perhaps overheard the nun encouraging them to take her and them insisting they wanted Seon, that would explain everything about her anger and jealousy towards Seol. I couldn’t really blame her really. As a child knowing that you are the second choice everything would suddenly have extra meaning. For Seon when Dan got an extra piece of food it made her upset but for Dan when Seon got an extra piece it must have been like confirmation as her status as the chosen one. It also explains her working hard. Now I’m feeling sorry for her. Seon’s not to blame and her anger shouldn’t be aimed at her but I understand why it is since she can’t aim it at her parents.

• I really don’t understand all this drama and uncertainty about the empress’s sachet and how the owner of it can cast doubt on who the princess is. Just because someone has an authentic object and says it’s theirs that doesn’t mean it is. Is there supposed to be doubt that prince Lee Han is actually the prince? Or that Seol is his daughter? I think it’s the latter but both are easily proven. Actually since the chairman gave the satchel to Lee Han then it has to be the latter. But in that case you have Seol’s memories, stuff she couldn’t know if she wasn’t the princess. You have the picture the older couple in the fishing village had of Lee Han and Seol and the ability to compare it both pictures of young Seol and to the Chairman’s memory of her when she was young. Plus in the end there is always DNA testing.

• How could Hae Young’s father have been involved in Prince Lee Han’s death? We already saw it happen – him being hit by the car. So?

• I really, really wish that Seol wasn’t so naive. Hye Ri in PP was naive as well but she was also pretty smart. Seol unfortunately isn’t. I love that as soon as Yoon Ju pushed her to go to the orphanage she decided that she definitely shouldn’t. I liked her idea to bring the kids to the palace. But Hae Young having to explain everything to her was annoying.

Episode 11

• I loved the outfits Yoon Ju and Dan were wearing during their meeting. Yoon Ju almost had her entire upper body covered in the feathered – thing. Meanwhile Dan has a small fur/feathered bit on either shoulder. I love the symbolism of it.

• Hae Young taking Seon back to the place they first met was lovely. I really loved their moment in the study and how long they held hands.

• I’m still surprised that the grandfather hasn’t had a larger role in this considering he was the driving force that got everything moving. Does he have nothing to say about Hae Young being kicked out of the palace? Couldn’t Seon go to him to get him reinstated?

“Now you’re starting to feel like a real princess. You even brought your bodyguards with you.” Thank you! Does this mean she actually has bodyguards? Because they all need to be fired for being the worst bodyguards of all time!

• I don’t know why Seon was so surprised to see Dan turn up since she knew Dan had the sachet already. She and Jung Woo just talked about it! That was a bit of surprisingly bad acting on the part of Kim Tae Hee. She's been great so maybe it was the director's fault.

• Yoon Ju coaching Dan with Seol’s memories plus the stuff she learned from her father to give Dan more ‘memories’ than Seol makes sense in the short term. That actually works better than I thought. Though frankly the fact that Dan knew about Hae Young’s dad makes her assertion more suspicious than confirming in my opinion and it appears that the chairman agrees. The problem with this story remains the sane – it’s easily disproven. Again the DNA test. Voila, the truth is known. Perhaps less certain but also convincing and easier to get would be to compare the picture of Lee Han and little Seol with pictures of young Seol and young Dan.

- How can Dan think this is going to end well for her? She knows she’s not the princess, it’s not even a case of her thinking its true, and even if she manages to confuse the issue long enough for the vote to fail eventually the truth is going to come out. Then she’s always going to be the girl who pretended to be the princess.
