iaria: (Sailor Moon is excited!)

I watched the first two episodes of Myung Wol and really enjoyed them.

The first episode was a good start.

• I liked Kang Woo and Myung Wol’s game of chase through Singapore – and I thought Kang Woo looked like he was having fun as well.

- It did make me wonder about her skills as an agent a bit – he pretty much saw her the entire time and ended up in complete control of the situation. She definitely needs to work on those skills some more.

• The fight at the masquerade auction was excellent.

• I am very amused by the way Myung Wol keeps stealing clothes from people.

• Also I find Myung Wol's superior Choi Ryu really hot.

But it was episode two that really sold me on this series. It was hilarious.

Episode 2

“I’ll remember your face." - Kang Woo. This amuses me so much. I'll believe it when I see it. I mean has he even connected the 'high school' girl who saved his life to the woman who stalked him through the streets of Singapore for an autograph? I can't tell.

• Hee Bok going through Myung Wol’s hospital window via the roof made me lol. Because clearly the door is too complicated for him. Or someone misses spying a bit too much.

• Kang Woo realising something was wrong, that he’d seen something out of place and then slooowwwly turning around to see her hands hanging on the edge of his deck... It was so like the set up of a horror movie, his expression was perfect, and I was loling.

• I love that already we have her saving him life and now him saving hers.

“Appearance... (pause, looks at her) is not my type.” – Kang Woo
(to herself) “What did he say? Rotten brat. Can’t I just kill him now?” – Myung Wol.

Heeeee. I loved how he’s going on and on in his own self-centred little world and meanwhile she’s musing about how he’s lucky he has the book because otherwise she’d kill him.

• Myung Wol playing crazy makes me lolol so much! I would have thought it’d embarrass me but it was hilarious.

• I was very amused by Kang Woo’s assistant’s awe and glee at Kang Woo worrying over Myung Wol - because he’s never seen him worry about anyone before.

• I loved the scene where they meet up on the street (just before she meets Choi Ryu) and as soon as she sees him she starts thinking about ways to kill someone, pulls out a weapon (pen? knife?) and then is completely thrown off when he starts in on her. I loved how he throws away the pen/knife without thinking about it. He's all ranting and she’s stuck going ‘?????’. I love the contrast between her as this spy thinking about killing him and him as this self-absorbed star thinking she’s a crazy fan.

“I was absolutely not worried about you” – Kang Woo. Hee. Which is of course why he knew to the second how long she’d been gone. But considering how worried he actually was I was surprised when he just walked away from her instead of trying to drag her along with him.

• Myung Wol’s reaction to her new orders to marry Kang Woo and get him to defect was excellent – “Can’t I just kill him instead?” LOL.

• I like Ok Soon so far and I foresee much fun with this new spy ‘family’.

• I have to say I really don't see how any can buy Myung Wol as a high schooler. Is she supposed to be in high school in the background Choi Ryu creates for her? Because I'd think that would make her mission to marry Kang Woo much harder. Far more believable to say that she dressed as a high school student to better stalk him.

• I think that Choi Ryu likes Myung Woo a lot more then she knows. I'm seeing a lot of subtext in their interactions. I wonder if they have more of a past then we've seen?

“In this world, finding a woman who’s more obsessed of you than me is close to impossible.” – In Ah.

First – LOL. I can practically hear his ‘that’s what you think’.
Second – what kind of love declaration is that?!

• All I could think during the kiss is that she’s probably thinking about how best to kill him.

I love how things got completely out of control – from her returning to get the book and fix her mistake to ‘killing Kang Woo’ to bringing him to North Korea to marrying him. LOL. Also I loved how she slowly becomes this increasingly crazy fan in Kang Woo’s eyes. By the end I’d decided that this show was clearly the Korean spy equivalent of Get Smart. And I like it.
