1x03 'Betrayal'

- What was Emily’s goal when she set up the situation at the restaurant with Patrick? Was she expecting Patrick to attack Daniel? Even if that wasn’t the plan she sent Patrick to their table, with a knife, so she had to know that it was at least a possibility. Was it a way to strengthen her relationship with Daniel by forcing him to open up to her? I did find myself wondering if she was trying to help him but that by telling him to apologize to Sara she was also testing him.

- I was surprised but pleased that Emily didn’t end up going with Jack to spread his father’s ashes.

- Emily showed with this episode that she is not afraid to get up close and personal with the collateral damage of her revenge.

- Is Emily playing Nolan? For the last couple episodes she’s been getting his help with the computer parts of her plans, in this episode as well, but this episode also showed, or at least strongly implied, that Emily knows her way around her computer pretty well herself.

1x04 'Duplicity'

- I love everything about Emily/Nolan. They are my favourite part of this show. His glee at her plots, his reactions/expressions when she scares him and the fact that she does scare him (her popping up in front of his golf cart was great though not as great as her appearing in his backseat like a killer)... I find them delightful.

- Emily standing outside the shipping container listening to Dr. Banks beg was a pretty powerful moment. I find myself hoping that this isn't the extent of Emily's revenge against her - even with Dr. Banks living in fear and her career finished - because what she did to Amanda was so horrible and unnecessarily cruel that I want Emily to make her suffer a bit more.

- I understand why Emily is so cold with Nolan and keeping her distance – she doesn’t trust anyone and he knows far too much about her already – but I wish she’d start being a little nicer to him. Even though I do love her cold bitchy face and the way she keeps freaking him out sometimes it feels like she's kicking a helpless puppy (who keeps coming back for more abuse). Plus logically it makes sense for her not to alienate him and you'd think she'd realise that (he knows who she is and what she's doing, and is rich and powerful.)

- “People who aren’t who they claim to be are very very dangerous. You would be wise to remember that.” - Dr. Banks. And that is certainly advice Amanda took to heart.

1x05 'Guilt'

- “Um. I might have bugged your house. I promised your father I’d look after you.” - Nolan I loved him moving back when she goes ‘what’.

I've been uncertain about Nolan and his motives but was assuming that all this time he was trying to protect Emily out of loyalty towards her father and it appears I was right. It makes him trying to play matchmaker between her and Jack make complete sense - he's trying to bring her inner Amanda out.

- "Understand something, Lydia. Every time I smile at you across a room, or we run into each other at a luncheon or I welcome you into my home, let that smile be a reminder of just how much I despise you. And that every time I hug you, the warmth you feel is my hatred burning through you." - Victoria ♥ That was... amazing. The last line especially so. Just - perfect.

- Nolan was sincerely horrified by Lydia's death which makes me wonder what is going on in the flash-forward where his reaction to 'Daniel's' death was - ambiguous.
