Awards
Best Shibby Moment: Him saving Moon and then encouraging her on her improvement – knowing that it could lead to his death. I loved his little smile at her.
Funniest Moment: “Usagi-chan’s been swallowed by the bathtub!” It should really go under ‘wtf’ because it makes Luna so stupid but it was also hilarious and made me laugh.
Cutest Moment: The flashback to Endymion with the Shitennou was pretty adorable. I loved Endymion and Jadeite’s grins at each other after the former beat Nephrite in arm-wrestling.
WTF of the Week:
“For me there is nothing but Endymion. The only one who saw me as I really was... was Endymion. There is no need for a planet if Endymion is not there.” That is just... wow. I mean the self-absorption that would have her writing off the planet like that and the obsessiveness in her desire for Endymion is pretty extreme. I actually found it pretty shocking. There was a bit of that subtextually in the other canons but this goes so far beyond... that she would be willing to throw away a planet purposefully simply because he was gone. That is not the Serenity I know.
But the part I disliked most was the second line – that only Endymion saw her for who she really was. WTF? What about the Senshi? No, I do not like that at all.
Coolest Moment: Endymion saving Sailor Moon from a blast from the youma and then deflecting it back with his sword. Very cool.
Best Senshi Moment: Princess Sailor Moon – just appearing from behind the curtain of smoke, her using her sword as a sword and sword-fighting with the youma, her turning the sword into a harp and then floating while playing it and completely healing Mercury (also some flowers, and possibly anyone else nearby?). I love that for Mercury she would heal (though not for Naru?). I love that she’s a warrior but she’s also a healer.
Best Senshi Interaction: The girls’ helping Usagi with her ‘endurance training’ at the beginning. Not complaining or leaving when she had the room so very hot, trying to support her in their own way – Ami with difficult math, Makoto with hot food (“Wah, I hate those. ... Thank you!”), Rei... maybe she had her make the room hotter? I loved the girls fanning her as she ate the food.

• What is with the lack of senshi in the last two episodes? Rei has gotten one scene in both, Minako has been absent, and Ami/Makoto have taken turns being secondary and tertiary positions. I don’t like it. The series is almost over, there are only eight episodes left in fact, and I want more Senshi interactions!
• “If Mamoru dies it’s your fault Usagi-chan.” – Mio. Um, no. Not in any way no matter how you think of it. Mamoru is in control of his thoughts, and Usagi is very much not, so if he died from thinking about her... well there’s not much she could do to stop it. It’s all up to him.
• The Naru/Usagi scene was lovely. I love that Naru was mad about Usagi keeping such a big secret from her (and not for being hurt) though in the end not really all that mad.
• “Let’s pretend I didn’t see that.” – Shingo, after catching cat Luna talking. Hee. Shingo is pretty great.
• I found the method Beryl is using to control Endymion interesting – placing a life-draining stone in him that’s attuned to him thinking of Serenity, instead of brainwashing him... is it because she can’t brainwash him? Or is it that she really does want to punish Endymion? If he dares to think of her hated princess she wants him to suffer for it – even if it causes his death – even more than she wants him for herself. Or at least that’s how it comes off to me.
• Jadeite still supporting Beryl even though she recently threatened to kill him – despite the fact that she very clearly would have gone through with it (and did with Nephrite) makes him look stupid. There does seem to be a hint though that he is so torn between his brainwashing, and his past with Endymion, that he’s overcompensating in picking Beryl.
• I just randomly thought about it this episode – but does Artemis have a human form as well? If not is he jealous of Luna’s?
• The lack of resolution to Mio being evil suddenly bothers me again. The last time Usagi saw her was when Mio was revealed to be evil when she kidnapped Mamoru, and the time before that Mio was still playing Usagi’s friend. There has been no resolution to that storyline. When Moon saw Mio… I didn’t really see any real reaction. She was clearly worried about Mio and Mamoru but there was nothing about Mio herself – friend turned enemy – and while Mio was always her enemy Usagi doesn’t know that. We never got to see her dealing with the truth about Mio and I’d really like to. What do the other Senshi think about it?
• The youma being so kind as to give Moon time to chat with herself, and the senshi to confer… maybe he’s just a really over confidant youma?
• Usagi, Ami and Luna apparently giving in to the idea that to defeat that youma Usagi will have to use her power is ridiculous. There are three other Sailor Senshi… why don’t they call them and then all try at once?
