Pretty Little Liars 1x06 – 1x08 Thoughts

iaria1x06 ‘Flawless’
• Emily looked gorgeous. I loved the dress and the colour and it looked lovely on her. I thought Hanna was the next best dressed.
• I love how supportive and good a friend Hanna is being with Emily.
• I’m still not buying Toby as ‘A’ or the killer or a horrible psycho.
• Spencer now dating and being all about Alex annoys me considering how closely on the heels to what happened with Wren its happening. Does this mean Wren is gone?
1x07 ‘It’s Not Bragging, Its True’
• Hanna is really turning out to be this really amazing friend. I love her so much more then I would have thought in the beginning. She’s been especially wonderful with Emily: “You wouldn’t have to pretend you’re someone you’re not.” and “We love Emily. No one cares who you’re with.” and “Spencer if she liked him she can cry about it.” (and that’s before she even knew that he wasn’t ‘A’). Hanna’s kind of awesome.
• I also liked her interactions with Lucas and I’m really happy that TPTB didn’t have the two of them flirting at the computer. He was clearly all about her and feeling her presence but the moment with the touch on the keyboard showed she feels nothing romantic/sexual towards him. She does, however, see him as a nice guy and a friend and with how things are playing out with Sean I’m betting the show is going in a Hanna/Lucas direction. So I’m glad that they’re not just jumping in with this pairing (like they did with Wren/Spencer/Alex).
• I still like Emily/Maya. I think they’re really sweet and I like how their relationship is playing out.
• I thought Sean sending Aria the flowers and card was really sweet but I also like that she called him on the real reason why he sent them and then defended Hanna. I loved Aria standing up for Hanna. I was actually on Sean’s side here though in that I don’t think he’s being an unreasonable jerk. He has been given no credible reason why she abandoned him in what was probably one of the more humiliating moments in his life. He has ample reason to be pissed.
• Aria’s stupidity in this episode was painful. Why the hell would she throw a confidential file into the river? Why, oh, why?! Are you kidding me? How is that anything but a horrible mistake? God. At least she goes well with Ezra.
• Aria’s parents fighting in the hallway of their kids school also made me shake my head. I don’t think that causing more rumours is going to help their kids. I see where Aria gets her inability to keep private things in private spaces. I was surprised that it was Aria’s mother who moved out of the house and not her dad.
• There was something wrong with the timeline of this episode. Spencer went off to the club while everyone else was still at school. I’d believe that she had a free period except this is Spencer and of the girls she is the least likely to have a free anything.
• Oh, sigh – I liked Toby. I’m hoping he’s not dead but it’s really not looking good for him.
1x08 ‘Friends ForNeva’
• The girls’ speeches about Alison were actually pretty wonderful, and I had been rather dreading them.
• So did Alison really blame the fire on Spencer or was Jason just making that up to scare Spencer? Perhaps in league with Jenna – did she really tell Jenna she was done with the other girls and she was afraid of Spencer?
• Jason was kind of scary.
• Emily and Maya were lovely.
• I fnd myself wondering if Alison didn’t fake her death and the body was someone else. I could buy that.
