Glee 1x18 Review

Eh, I didn’t like this episode.
So first what I did like:
• The final Burt/Kurt scene was fabulous and I loved this line – "You don't have to work, at anything Kurt. Your job is to be yourself. And my job is to love you, no matter what.” ♥ Burt is (as usual) so awesome.
• We got another lovely Mercedes/Quinn scene which felt very much like it built off their last one and I loved Quinn being worried for her.
• The Mercedes/Santana sing off wasn’t bad. I was pleased for Mercedes that she got Puck wooing her for awhile regardless of why it happened and their song together wasn’t bad either though none of the songs this episode were anything special. I liked Mercedes last scene with him where she tells him that she doesn’t think he wants to be the bully he acts like either. I wonder if that’s actually going to go anywhere. If Mercedes has quit cheerleading does this mean Kurt will as well? And if he doesn’t which is he going to choose once football season comes back around?
• Kurt and Brittney are adorable together and I really want them to become friends now.
• I liked finally getting an answer on where Quinn is living though it’s a couple episodes too late.
What I didn't like:
I loved 1x16 so much because all the character actions felt real and I believed and understand everything they did, and so a huge reason I disliked this episode was because it did basically the opposite by having all the characters act according to what the plot needed and not based on what had happened in the previous episodes or made sense for the characters.
• The Puck plot was ridiculous and stupid. Him losing his mojo, the various nerds actually trashing him, the fact that pretend dating Mercedes was enough to get it back for him. Also I’m slightly annoyed we didn’t get a make out scene between them or at least of Puck trying to get with her and being turned down. If he simply needed to date someone popular why didn’t he get with Santana? Why does Santana even care? Last I heard they weren’t seeing each other anymore once the pregnancy truth came out.
• Why was Quinn so fine with Puck dating Mercedes? I mean what happened to her wanting to be with him? Has he worn her down through constant exposure and now she no longer wants to be with him? It sure didn’t seem that way in the last episode. Or did she just not see Mercedes as any kind of threat?
• What’s with Burt’s sudden denseness about Kurt’s insecurity?
• What was up with Rachel pretending that she and Jesse were still dating when he very clearly broke up with her?
• Why was Finn with Rachel at the doctor’s appointment anyway since as of the end of the last episode he was really mad at her? Where the hell were her parents this episode?
• I really wish they’d give Rachel a female friendship with someone and I don’t even care who.
• Not so much a complaint as a question but are we supposed to assume then that Brittney has made out with Artie?
